🚨Please Return Blue Cards & Lunch Forms ASAP🚨
Emergency contact cards (blue cards) and lunch forms were distributed Friday September 8th during your child's 4th period class. It is critical that you return both of these forms back to school as soon as possible. Students can return these forms to me in room 1E4.
I know lunch forms ask for some sensitive information but they are 100% confidential and are extremely important to the ways in which our school receives funding. Lunch forms help us retain Title 1 funding" which critical for schools who service students that live below the poverty line. Lunch forms make sure we get proper funding for student metrocards, technology, and meals. So I urge families to fill them out and return them as quickly as possible.
If families need lunch forms in a languages other than English or Spanish I ask you to complete to form online here: https://www.myschoolapps.com/
The School's zip code is 11226.

🎭 Student Theater Program 🎭
Free Student Afterschool Theater Program
Registration has opened for our 2023/24 Youth Company Auditions, and I'd love to invite your students to attend. If there are any opportunities for us to come and meet with your student either in a class or club fair, please let us know and we can arrange for a representative to do so.
Our youth company auditions are on October 18th and 19th at MCC Theater, located at 511 w 52nd street, New York, NY.
Attached is information about the audition and our programs, as well as a flyer to hand out/forward to other teachers. All of our programs are completely free of charge and offer opportunities to work with active theater professionals, build creative thinking skills, foster community, and see great NYC live Theater. If there is any possibility that we would be able to meet with your students either through tabling or presentations, it would be greatly appreciated!
Information about the Youth Company for students:
The Youth Company is a free, after-school program for students interested in developing their acting and dramatic writing skills. Within a creative, challenging, and supportive environment, teenagers from five boroughs participate in weekly workshops (Labs) led by professional theater artists. No prior experience is necessary. It is the desire to have one’s voice be heard and to speak one’s authentic truth, that will be the key to connecting with the program.
In Performance Lab, Youth Company actors develop their performance skills through improvisation, movement, and ensemble building. Original student-written monologues and scenes are performed by the ensemble in the annual spring production UNCENSORED.
Playwriting Lab members develop original scripts. Under the tutelage of the playwriting director and assistant director, young writers learn about the process of creating strong characters and composing dialogue, as well as establishing setting, and conflict. The program culminates in an opportunity for a staged reading of our FRESHPLAY festival of student work.
Auditions will be from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. To be considered for our programs, students must attend both days. No preparation is necessary. Students will play theater games and complete writing exercises. This is an opportunity for us to get to know them, and for them to get to know more about us. We hope to see them there!
To register, have students fill out this Google form.
