Softball Set to Host Area Tournament Beginning Monday

Hewitt-Trussville Softball (37-6-1 overall) will host the 7A Area 6 Tournament Monday May 2 through Wednesday May 4. The Huskies will be joined by Spain Park, Oak Mountain, and Vestavia. The teams will compete in a double elimination tournament. The top two teams will advance to the 7A East Regional.

Baseball Sweeps Hoover; Advances to State Quarterfinals
Hewitt-Trussville Baseball defeated Hoover in a pair of first round playoff games Friday night to win the opening round series. The Huskies rallied from a 6-1 deficit to win game one 8-6. HT closed out the series with a 6-3 win in game two. Coach Jeff Mauldin's team is now 26-3-1 overall on the season.

Boys Soccer Set for Playoff Game
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Soccer is in the playoffs for the first time in eight years. The Huskies beat Spain Park 4-0 last week in the final regular season Area game to qualify.
The Huskies will travel to Oak Mountain for the opening round game on Tuesday. The match will begin at 5pm at Oak Mountain High School. The winner of the match will advance to the second round to play Austin or Grissom.

Outdoor Track & Field: Sectional Recap
The HT Boys and Girls Outdoor Track & Field teams both finished 2nd this weekend at the AHSAA 7A Section 3 meet. All athletes that qualified will now compete at the AHSAA State Championship meet May 5-7 in Gulf Shores.

Girls Golf to Compete at Sub-State Tuesday
Hewitt-Trussville Girls Golf will be at Timberline on Tuesday as they compete in the AHSAA 7A North Sub-State Tournament. The Huskies will be joined by Grissom, Huntsville, and Spain Park. The top two teams from Tuesday's tournament will advance to the AHSAA State Tournament next week.

School Athletic Physicals May 13
School athletic physicals will take place on May 13, 2022 at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium. Students wishing to participate in athletics that will be in grades 7-12 for the 2022-2023 school year should attend.

A. All students grades 7-12 that participate in Athletics must have a current physical. School physical day is set to help all students get an updated physical

A. All students that will be in grades 7-12 during the 2022-2023 school year that wish to participate in Athletics should attend. This includes current 6th graders that wish to participate in Athletics during 2022-2023 as 7th graders.
Q. Where will school physicals take place?

Q. What time does the event begin?
A. Students at HTHS can start during their athletic period. Students at HTMS should come right after school ends for the day.

A. Yes. Physicals are good for one year. Students who get a physical in May will be covered for the entire 2022-2023 school year.
HTHS and HTMS Boys Basketball Tryout Information
Tryout dates have been set for the 2022-2023 HTHS and HTMS Boys Basketball teams.
HTHS tryouts are open to rising 9th-12th grade TCS students. Tryouts will be held in the HTHS Gym May 23 and May 25. Rising Freshmen will be from 4:00pm-5:45pm. Rising Sophomores-Seniors will be from 6:00pm-7:45pm. Questions regarding HTHS Boys Basketball tryouts should be directed to jeremy.monceaux@trussvillecityschools.com.

Key details:
- May 10th 6pm @ HTMS Auditorium - Parent Meeting. This meeting will be for 7th-12th graders. (If this is not your first season, feel free to skip this meeting. The presentation for the meeting can be found on the XC Info & Sign Up tab.)
- Make sure to complete the Sign Up form on the XC Info & Sign Up tab. You will not be added to the roster until you complete this form.
- I will continue communicating through BAND. If you are not currently on the XC/Distance BAND used this year, instructions on joining are in the parent meeting presentation.
- May 16th – Spirit Pack Orders Close.
- May 19th, 20th, 23rd – Spring Evaluations for all rising 9th-12th grade runners. Evals for 7th-8th will be 19th and 20th only.
- May 30th – First Summer Workout.

Hewitt-Trussville Bowling is set to host tryouts for the 2022-2023 season. Tryouts will be held May 10-12 from 3:45pm-5:15pm at Sparetime in Trussville. Rising 7th grade-12th grade TCS are eligible to tryout. Hewitt-Trussville will field a middle school team and high school team next season.

HTMS Boys Outdoor Track & Field Wins Metro
The HTMS Boys Outdoor Track & Field team made history on Tuesday by winning the Metro Championship for the first time in school history. The Huskies finished with 163 team points which was 41 points better than Simmons.

2022 Middle School Cross Country Sign-Ups
- Please complete the Google Form below to sign your athlete up for cross country. This list will be used to build our roster and to add parents to my email list. This form must be completed! https://forms.gle/ZaNXMXua9CL2KmdNA
- We will have a parent meeting on May 10th at 6:00 in the Middle School Auditorium. This meeting will mainly be for parents/athletes who have never ran cross country. If you have, there won’t be any new info given that you all won’t receive through an email. You are welcome to come, but just know that it isn’t mandatory and you can just email me with any questions you may have.
- Our Team Shop is already open for cross country season! This store will be used to buy your athlete’s uniform for the season as well as any other items he/she may want or need. Parents are more than welcome to buy Husky gear for yourself too! The link to order XC gear can be found here. https://bsnteamsports.com/shop/HTxc22 Remember, after the deadline no more orders can be placed! The shop will close on May 16th.
- We will have XC evaluations on May 19th and 20th. This will be to mainly familiarize our athletes with proper warm up drills, how to do workouts on their own, and how to cool down. We will do a 1 mile time trial on the 20th. Those evaluation days will end at approximately 4:30.
- If you know of someone interested in running cross country, please pass this information on to them so they are aware of the parent meeting and other important info.
