π Rush School is having a Spelling Bee! π
We are excited to announce that Rush School is participating in the Scripps National Spelling Bee this school year!
We will begin with classroom bees being held in individual classrooms on Monday and Tuesday, December 18 & 19. Every student in the school will have the opportunity to participate. Click on the link below to access your child's grade level's list of words. (A paper copy will be sent home on Monday, December 4.) It is also recommended that students study the grade level above their present one to prepare for challenge words, in case a tie occurs and the grade level list is exhausted.
Once classroom winners have been determined, those students will be given the Champion's List to study for the school-wide bee. This Bee will be held at the end of January/beginning of February 2024 (a specific date will be given when we are alerted to the date of the regional competition).
Rush School will then send our school champion to the regional spelling bee!
To assist with studying, you may want to download the *free* "Word Club" app which helps students through quizzes and games.
Please direct any questions to Mrs. DiSimone at disimonek@cinnaminson.com.
2nd Annual Stand Up Against Hate
STUDENT ART COMPETITION
Through a collaborative partnership between the Cinnaminson Board of Education and Cinnaminson Township Committee, Rush Intermediate School is hosting the 2nd Annual Stand Up Against Hate Student Art Competition. The Stop Hate initiative is centered around preventing bias, stereotyping, and prejudice in schools and communities in New Jersey. This year's theme is Accepting Others Differences.
Students are asked to submit a creative artwork piece, poem, or video that will inspire other students and young people to accept others' differences. Artwork submissions can be an original drawing, painting, or a piece of digital artwork. Video submissions should be an original video between 30-90 seconds in length. Videos can feature any content that is on theme, including, but not limited to, narrative, poetry, spoken word, song, dance, or acting. Video submissions should be emailed to barkern@cinnaminson.com. Any other artwork should be submitted to your child's homeroom teacher. All artwork must be turned in by December 22nd. First, second and third-place winners will be announced after winter break and receive a special prize and recognition.
π Lunch Information π
IMPORTANT: Cinnaminson School District will no longer use "My Payments Plus" for online lunch payments!
Cinnaminson Township Public Schools will now be using the LunchTime Payment Portal this school year for parents to deposit money to studentsβ lunch accounts. The LunchTime Portal also gives you the opportunity to track purchases, create reminders and set up automatic payments. Below is a guide to setting up your studentβs account. If you do not want to pay online and would like to continue sending in cash or check with your student, you are still able to create a username and password to track your studentsβ purchases and see how much money is on the account.
Payments made online have NO FEES or other charges!
If you would like detailed information, use the βParent Guide to School Payment Portalβ. This document will assist new users with the most basic functionality of the School Payment Portal. Any questions or concerns with a studentβs account should be directed to Lisa Friedrich, Food Service Director.
For questions, please contact Lisa Friedrich, Food Services Director, at 856-786-2888.
π» Morning drop-off π
Just a reminder that if you drive your child to school in the morning, they are not permitted out of the car until 8:25AM when a staff member reports for duty. This is for your child's safety as there are still staff members pulling into the parking lots as well as buses arriving. Unsupervised children have a greater possibility of being involved in an accident.
If there is a repeated offense of this procedure, it will be addressed individually.
