HTHS Newsletter
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dear Families,
And we're back to our regularly scheduled program. It was great seeing our students' faces for an entire week after a short (2 days!) one last week. Students have been working hard this second half of the year. We hope you were able to attend our conferences this week. However, if your schedule did not allow that, please feel free to reach out to teachers with any concerns, questions, etc. This is the perfect time to check in to ensure the optimal level of success for your student(s).
Here's what's been going on and what's coming up at the high school!
What Do You Need To Know?
Autism Awareness Spirit Week!
To show our support and acceptance, the Power Rangers are hosting a spirit week in honor of those with autism. You'll find our themes below. Remind your student to dress the part and synergize for a good cause! Be sure to come watch our boys basketball teams in action on Tuesday!
Rangers Save Lives
The National Honor Society hosted this year's second Red Cross blood drive. HTHS's partnership with the Red Cross is decades old, and this year our Rangers have shown up to make that partnership a lifesaving experience. During this round of donations, our students and staff members donated enough blood to save approximately 114 lives. We are so proud of our students for their selflessness.
A special shout out goes to our staff members who led by example with their own donations: Mr. Chapman, Mr. Thompson, and Mrs. Wills. We were also honored to have our superintendent, Mr. Tyler, come by to speak with our students and donate. Thank you!
Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Jersey Baker! Jersey was chosen as our Athlete of the Week for her spectacular performance on the court. Her contributions to the girls basketball team help lead them to success. We are so proud of you, Jersey!
Important Message for SENIORS!
Cap & Gowns can be ordered at www.jostens.com and must be ordered by 3/1.
Announcing Graduation 2024
The Class of 2024 has spoken! After multiple surveys completed by our senior class, this school years' graduation commencement ceremony for the Class of 2024 will be held at World Harvest Church in Canal Winchester. After four wonderful years at Fortress Obetz, the decision has been made to ensure a smooth and convenient experience for our graduating seniors and their families.
One of the primary reasons for this change is to eliminate the stress and uncertainty caused by weather-related reschedules. By moving the event indoors, we can guarantee a seamless ceremony, rain or shine. This means that everyone can look forward to celebrating this important milestone without worrying about last-minute changes due to unpredictable weather conditions.
Additionally, we recognize that families have loved ones traveling from out of state to attend the graduation ceremony. Holding the commencement at World Harvest Church provides ample time for families to plan, make necessary arrangements, and ensure that no one misses this significant event in the lives of our graduates.
It is worth noting that we have held graduation ceremonies at World Harvest prior to the COVID-19 pandemic for five successful years, so we know that this venue will provide a wonderful and memorable setting for the Class of 2024.
We are excited to celebrate the accomplishments of our incredible graduating class. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, May 21st at 7:00pm and stay tuned for further details as we get closer to the big day. We look forward to seeing you there!

Driver's Ed Success
Last week we hit another milestone. Our first student to sign up on 11 December graduated the program this past weekend. Alexis Wooten completed the online course just after the new year and performed her final drive with Instructor Melissa Chapman this past Saturday. We also had one of our pilot students, Erika Wright, obtain her license last Friday.
We are so proud of being able to provide these services to our students to help them obtain their license!
TutorMe: 24/7 Academic Help!
Our school has partnered with TutorMe to provide personalized learning support for every student. We believe that every student should have a sidekick in learning, and TutorMe is helping us achieve that goal! With on-demand tutoring, students can access one-on-one, live tutoring and writing support anytime, anywhere.
Our New Partnership
Our district has just partnered with the Stay in the Game attendance program to help increase student attendance.
