A Message From The Principal
Dear Christ the King School Families,
As we complete the second week of January and enjoy a three-day weekend (celebrating the birthday and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.), I am reminded of Dr. King’s words,“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.” I believe Dr. King’s words align perfectly with our philosophy: As an educational community, we seek to provide our students with the knowledge and experiences that will stimulate the growth of the intellectual, spiritual, physical and emotional qualities of each child. CKS provides a caring environment that fosters close interaction between administration, teachers, parents, children and the community (Christ the King Family Handbook, p.4).
As I continue to visit and observe classrooms, I am acutely aware of the emphasis our teachers place on academic excellence within their rigorous teaching practices. Our students learn and thrive in a safe environment that recognizes the needs and potential of each individual, and I continue to feel blessed to be a part of this community.
I wish you all a restful weekend, and I look forward to more activities in the forthcoming weeks.
Included in this newsletter, you will find many announcements as well as photos of this past week - enjoy!!
In Christ,
Kelley Alderman
CKS Principal
