ATTENDANCE MATTERS

The school day begins at 7:25 a.m.. Students are expected to be in the classroom and ready to receive instruction by 7:25 a.m. Students that arrive after that are considered late.
Early Dismissals: When possible, please schedule meetings and appointments for your student after school hours or when school is closed. No early dismissals after 1:30p.m. daily.
SILENT NO MORE! An event you should plan on attending.
This event is open to all PWCS families. Please plan on attending with your student, bring their friends, families and your neighbors. Special guests will be in attendance to share the evolving drug trends, the dangers of opioids and the realities of drug abuse.

Academic Support
Remediation is now offered to support all students. If a student needs the extra support in English, Math, Science, History, EPF and World Languages, make sure your student seeks assistance. Tuesdays and Wednesday 2:10pm - 4:30pm report to the enclosed cafeteria (students will be informed of the location for remediation)- STUDENTS MUST REPORT TO THE ENCLOSED CAFETERIA BY 2:10pm -
**No loitering in the building permitted after school.**

CLASSIC GAMES CLUB
This club is literal fun and games! Come join our group every Wednesday in room 2203 for all sorts of card games, board games, and more. From friendly competition on the chess board, to fierce friendship-testing Uno battles, and even new games you may have never seen before! We're excited to see you there!
SPANISH CLUB
The Spanish Club students will start a peer tutoring homework sessions on Mondays or Tuesdays. The meetings will be announced in the morning and afternoon to remind students of the meetings.
The sessions will be for students that are learning Spanish and ESOL students learning English or for those that just want to practice their speaking. This will take place in room 1116. Starting at 2:10pm.
SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY
The Spanish Honor Society will be announcing their upcoming induction ceremony for Juniors and seniors that meet the requirements. More info. to come via announcement.

Freedom High School Spring Sports Tryouts will start on Tuesday, February 20. Any student interested in participating must have a valid VHLS Physical, be enrolled in 5 classes, passed 5 classes with at least 2 Cโs (Semester 1), and have completed the Prince William County Concussion Training prior to trying out. Below are the links to those two documents.

Planning to attend college or a trade school after graduation?
Class of 2024 Families,
Are you planning to attend college OR a trade school after graduation? If so, it is CRUCIAL that you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSAยฎ) OR the Virgina Alternative State Aid (VASA) to receive money to help pay for educational costs!!!
Financial Aid Officers will be available to assist families in submitting their FAFSA/VASA forms at the Manassas City Branch Public Library (Location: 10104 Dumfries Road; Manassas, VA) on the following dates:
- Saturday, March 9, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

- If you are applying for FAFSA, you AND one parent (if they do not already have one!) must create your account at least 48 hours BEFORE attending. CREATE ACCOUNT HERE
