Greetings Mustangs!
It was another great week at Cliftondale! Thank you so much for an exceptional Grandparents Day! We had well over 160 grandparents to come out! Thank you to our grandparents that come and those with us in spirit. Please enjoy the pictures below from the event! Special "shout outs" and THANK YOU to our SGC President Mr. Young, and the following parents for helping: Ms. M. Davis, Mrs. D. Fraser, Mrs. M. Hightower, and Mr. S. Knowles.
I have been communicating for several weeks that LUNCH IS NO LONGER FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS. Students' Free/reduced lunch benefits will end on September 16th for any households that previously benefited from the services and haven't completed a new application. Parents will be expected to pay the full amount as of Monday, September 19th. Parents must load money on their student’s account for meals and/or extra sales, view account balances and purchase history, and set up low-balance reminders by visiting www.mypaymentsplus.com. If your child previously received free or reduced lunch, please make sure to complete a School Lunch Application for your household.
Progress Reports are now available electronically through the parents and student portals in infinite campus. Please login and check your student's academic progress. I you have any questions pertaining your child's grades, please contact his/her teacher. Progress Reports will post every 4.5 this school year.
September is Attendance Awareness Month Attendance Matters – All Day, Every Day Showing up Matters for R.E.A.L Attending school regularly provides an opportunity to: · Build Routines · Increase Engagement · Provide Access to resources · Support Learning Routines: Establishing a routine of daily attendance helps reduce stress at home, and supports a habit of attendance that will help your teenager get and keep a job. Engagement: Being in school helps students to get to know each other and school staff and builds relationships that can motivate participation in learning. Access to Resources: Schools provide access to valuable resources such as meals, health, mental health supports and fun enrichment activities such as sports, clubs, music, and other afterschool and summer programs. Learning: Students who attend school regularly do better academically in middle school and are more likely to graduate from high school.
Morning arrival is 7:00 am-7:40 am. Students arriving after 7:40 am will be marked tardy as the instructional daily begins promptly at 7:40 am. Students should not be dropped off prior to 7:00 am.
Parents are asked to use the designated car rider loop for morning drop off. For the safety of your child, please refrain from releasing your students from the parking lot to run across the street. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN.. Students should only be released from your vehicle through the car rider loop where designated staff members are available to support your child with safely exiting your vehicle. Please also be cautious of other students exiting from their parents’ vehicles and our staff members.
