From the Principal's Desk
Dear Eagle Academy Charter School Parents,
What a great day to be an eagle! The first quarter of school will soon be over! However, please encourage our Eagles to get their assignments completed and turned in for grading purposes. Our EACS staff are elated that students are working more independently! Encourage them to do their very best at the end of this quarter.
Also, don't forget to sign up for Parent/Teacher conferences next week. I look forward to seeing you all in the building working collectively with our staff to ensure all student success. We value you, your input, time, and efforts. Let's go Team!

Attendance Matters!
Every Day Matters!
A missed school day (whether excused or unexcused) is a lost opportunity for students to learn. Daily attendance makes a huge difference in student academic achievement.
October 3 - October 28 is the official 20 day Oasis count period. Attendance during this period determines our Average Daily Membership (.i.e student enrollment). This is the number the State of Alaska uses to determine our funding. We realize that some absences are unavoidable, however if at all possible, we encourage families to please try not to schedule optional/elective doctors appointments, vacations, or out of state travel during this period.
Why attendance Matters:
Inclement Weather
'Tis the Season
Temperatures will be starting to drop. We go outside (weather permitting, to 10 degrees below zero) for recess every day. Please, please, please start preparing to send your student(s) to school with appropriate winter outerwear. This means:
- warm coat
- winter hat
- mittens or gloves
- scarves
- snow pants
- boots
- Rain coat
- Rain Boots
It is always a good idea to mark your child’s name on all items. You would be surprised how many pairs of black snow pants we get!
