Dear Parents,
If you have a child who receives special education services in District 103, you should be receiving a survey in the mail from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) sometime on or after March 15. It will say it is from “Measurement Inc.”, which is the contractor administering the survey on behalf of ISBE.
District 103 was selected this year as one of the districts in the state that will be participating in the survey. The survey will help determine how well schools throughout the state of Illinois are involving parents in their children’s education. The survey results are a required component of the ISBE’s Annual Performance Report to the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs.
An example of the ISBE Parent Survey, as well as other supporting information, can be found on the ISBE Special Education Indicator 8: Parent Involvement webpage. A strong survey response will help ISBE and school districts improve family-school partnerships in special education.
Please be on the lookout for this survey in your U.S. Postal mailbox. We encourage you to complete it in order to help all schools learn how to strengthen our partnerships with families!
