Everybody helped to make it a great day at Trillium Creek today! Thank you families for being thoughtful about letting kids have fun last night and still making sure that they arrived ready for a day of school today. Teachers were thoughtful about planning engaging learning activities for students and supporting students with self-regulation. Students remembered to give themselves and others a little grace today and treated one another with care. I walked through each classroom this morning and was able to give lots of our kiddos positive recognition for their good work at school. Thanks to all for helping us create a culture of excellence and equity within a community of care!

Thank you to the families who have not been parking in the fire lanes during school drop off/dismissal. This is so important and helps with the flow of traffic in our parking lot.

Please DO NOT park in the fire lanes at evening school events or ever for that matter. We know parking is at a premium here but as we found out last Friday night, it is very important to keep the fire lanes clear so emergency personal can get in to our parking lot.

Lifetouch retake day is Tuesday November 5th. If your child wants a new photo taken, send in their packet of old photos and we will retake their photo.

The West Linn-Wilsonville School Board has placed two measures on the upcoming November Election ballot. Those measures include a $206.8 million capital bond to fund several construction projects as well as a local option levy renewal that funds approximately 80 teachers across the district. Neither measure is expected to increase the current tax rate. Please take a moment to learn about these two measures by visiting www.wlwvbond.org.

The Scholastic Book Fair Scholarship

The Scholastic Book Fair begins the week of November 18th. Winter Craft Fair Scholarship

Please join us for our next TCPS PTA General meeting on Wednesday, November 13th at 6pm in the Kindergarten Neighborhood. This is a great opportunity to learn about what’s going on at TCPS, upcoming PTA events, and connect with Principal Kate Donegan. See you there!

Our first PTA sponsored Family Movie night is coming up! In order to accommodate our large community population, we have planned two identical events (the same movie will play both nights). To simplify things, we are suggesting that grades K-2 come on Friday, November 8th, and grades 3-5 come November 15th. However, families with students in multiple grades can choose which night works for them (and all ages are welcome either week). We only request that each family choose one night or the other.

Community Care Day is this Sunday, Nov 3 from 12-3 pm. We are still in need of volunteers to help with trail construction and landscape bed beautification. Please consider signing up for an hour. This is a family event and a wonderful opportunity for kids to give back to their school community!

TCPS PTA is proud to bring back, in partnership with National PTA and Facebook, the Digital Families Workshop-Internet Awareness. Please join us, Wednesday, November 20th from 6pm-8pm in the TCPS Gym, for an evening of hands-on conversation about internet safety, online presence, and parenting kids in a digital age. All parents are welcome, most appropriate for students grades 3rd-5th. Dinner is included and awesome raffle prizes! The international travelling theatre company will be here December 2nd - 7th to present “Gulliver’s Travels.” Students in grades K-8, attending Bolton, Cedaroak, Rosemont, Three Rivers and Trillium are invited to participate! No experience is needed. The fee for the entire week is $40 per student. Participants will audition and then rehearse each evening that week at Cedaroak Park (all must commit to being available each day, Monday-Friday 4:15-8:30 PM) and then perform the production of Gulliver’s Travels on Saturday, December 7th, complete with stage make-up and costumes! Registration forms are available here (see attachment) or in the Office November 4th. Forms and Fees and can be turned in to the office beginning November 12th. Space is limited and registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, November 12th-15th only. (Only registered students will receive an invitation to the audition. All students that audition are guaranteed a role in the play. Detailed rehearsal schedules will be handed out after the Monday audition.) Enjoy food from several food truck vendors as well as sweet treats to enjoy immediately or take home. Best of all, proceeds from the raffle and vendor fees will benefit our annual fundraiser for Doernbecher Children's Hospital!
