A Message From Dr. Cain
WSD community:
Of all of the communications I have shared with this community, this one is by far the most bittersweet. The past nine years have been among the most impactful and special of my life. To serve, live, and work in this proud community has truly been a joy, one that I will always cherish.
With that in mind, I want to inform you that I have accepted the position of superintendent of the Rockwood School District for the 2022-23 school year.
I have learned so much over the years, but more importantly, we have accomplished a great deal that should be both remembered and celebrated. From additional staffing to numerous construction projects, to instructional programming, to ballot efforts; we have done it all as a team. The team is stronger and more essential than any single member. Ultimately, the team will persist, the work will continue, and I have great confidence that this district will continue to move forward.
My plan and focus will be to end this school year in the same manner that it began, focused on the needs of all kids, working to ensure that students and staff are safe, and continuing to look out for each other.
As an educator, parent, and patron of the community, I want to say thank you for each and every day that we have had together. I wish you each, and this district and community collectively, nothing but the very best in the bright future that awaits the WSD.
Respectfully,
Curtis A. Cain, Ph.D.
