October News 2023
Midland Trail Elementary
News & Updates from MTE:
We still have a little over 2 weeks of October!
This week we will have Parent/Teacher Conferences at MTE. No School on Thursday 10/19 or Friday 10/20. All classroom teachers have worked to set up conference times with families. If you still need to make an appointment, reach out to your teacher ASAP!
Our Fall Family Fun Night is coming! Join your fellow MTE Community on Thursday 10/26 for Trunk or Treat, Community Resources, and Fall Fun! It will be held at MTE from 5-6:30pm. Costumes are encouraged.
Halloween is 10/31. Students may wear costumes to school. We will have an all-school parade beginning at 2:45pm. Parents are invited to view the parade as our students march through the gym. Parents may enter the gym starting at 2:30pm. ANY parent/guardian that plans to attend classroom parties must have a valid I.D. and get a Visitor's Sticker. Parents just attending the parade in the gym do not need to get a pass. We encourage all parents to leave smaller children at home so we can focus on our MTE students. Classroom parties begin at 3:00pm.
*Check in at the Office (with your ID) during Parent/Teacher Conferences to get checked in for the parties.
Thank you,
Dr. Aron Attebery, Principal

Get Involved!
Join PTA! Our PTA needs YOU! We need more support in order to keep PTA moving forward at Midland Trail. The commitment is small. We meet once a month, after school, for 30-45 minutes. We plan a few activities each year: Back To School, Classroom Parties, Teacher Treats, Candy Sales, and our biggest event is the MTE Carnival. We cannot do this without more support. Please consider joining PTA and offering to help out once a month.
Apply for FREE/REDUCED LUNCH
Applications must be renewed every year.
We encourage you to complete the free/reduced meal application for the 23-24 school year as you may be eligible to continue receiving the free meal benefit.
For more information, contact Megan Rabun, Food Services Coordinator, at (913) 288-4141.
TUSD Transportation ~ Bus Cards
Bus Rider Families,
As you are aware, our transportation department utilizes Traversa Ride 360 for our bus tracking platform. This technology allows parents/guardians to see information about their student's route, including the times that their student gets on and off the bus.
In order for this platform to work correctly, students are issued a bus card that they must scan when they get on and off the bus.
If you are not familiar with Traversa Ride 360, you can find more information here: https://www.turnerusd202.org/departments/transportation

When you fill out the Online Registration you will decide if your child is riding the bus or being a car rider. This information will be shared with the teacher.
