An Extraordinary Place to Learn
Principal's Message
Thank you for an EXTRAORDINARY year! We experienced some uncertainty along the way, but one thing that never changed was the commitment and dedication to excellence from the staff, students, and families at Randolph. I am extremely humbled and honored to have led alongside such a phenomenal group of educators and to have served the families of our community this year. While we are not quite sure what next school year looks like, we are certain of one thing. Serving and supporting our families will remain our top priority.
Please be sure to read this Summer SMORE in its entirety as there is information regarding Summer Updates, New Student Registration, Summer School, Report Cards, and resources for students and families, including Summer Reading Resources. Although our building is officially still closed due to COVID-19, information regarding office hours and contacting us for support is also included.
I wish each of you well this Summer. Be safe and be sure to READ!

A Message to My 5th Grade Scholars: Be Special
Although this is my first year as your principal, it feels like I have known each of you forever. In a very short time I've had the pleasure of watching you grow and mature into young ladies and young men, each destined for greatness.
I experienced a number of virtual High School graduations as this school year came to a close. With each celebration, I was filled with excitement at the anticipation of sharing in that moment with you all in 2027.
Randolph has given you a strong foundation on which to build your future. A future that is bright and filled with the opportunity to be anything your heart desires. I would be being dishonest if I did not say your would face challenges or bumps in the road along the way. But you are resilient, you are built for greatness, and destined for success.
How can I be so sure? I know this to be true because I've watched you conquer so many challenges; transitioning schedules, changing and adapting to new teachers mid-year; and most recently I've watched you fight through a global pandemic that has changed every facet of your lives. You are still here, standing strong and ready to take on the world.
As you move forward to Middle School, I offer one challenge to each of you...continue to STAND STRONG!
STAND up for what you believe in!
STAND proud for all that you have accomplished!
Stand up for what is right, even when everyone around you is doing wrong.
Henry David Thereau said, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams."
You are...doctors, designers, engineers, artists, musicians, performers, scientists, lawyers, politicians, first responders, entrepreneurs, educators...You are LEADERS!
You are dreamers who have dreamed big and whose dreams will be fulfilled as you go confidently after them.
Make each day more EXTRAordinary than the last and Be Special!
You are my first class at A. Philip Randolph, and class of 2020, I love you, I will miss you, and I am extremely proud of you!
Be Special,
Principal Wilson, Proud Dolphin
