Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Students and Families,
The 12-week grading period ended last week. We have less than 8 weeks left of the school year! Seniors have less than 7 weeks. We have finalized progress grades and they are posted in Synergy/ParentVue/StudentVue. Please reach out to the office if you need help accessing progress grades online. For students who are not passing 1 or more classes, please remember we have academic support Mondays - Thursdays after school. Students can take the activity bus home at 3:45pm.
Prom was Friday night. The weather stayed dry and we had another wonderful celebration at the Troutdale House. Thank you to all who attended and to our student leadership for their hours organizing and bringing the night to life.
We have begun looking forward to our Community Care Day at Dabney State Park on Friday, May 12th. We will spend the first several hours of the morning supporting habitat restoration and helping with park maintenance. The afternoon will include a special lunch followed by afternoon fun and games. Permission slips were given to students last week and are also available for download in this newsletter. We will continue to remind students to get them signed and returned as soon as possible.
The week ahead finally includes some warmer temperatures and sunshine! Much overdue! Enjoy the week and reach out if you have questions.

Future Plans After High School: I want to go to a university to study fashion design.
Grade: 9
Interests: I really like to draw. I’m really into art and I like listening to music too. I like Korean R&B.
Favorite subject in school: Math. When I get it, it’s so much easier. It’s pretty likable.
Favorite thing about STHS: I like how small the school is. I really like how people can get along really easily because of how small some of the classes are.
Emilie Hurt
Future Plans After High School: I plan to get my CNA as soon as I can after high school. I’m going to Middle College to be able to get that because I want to be a nurse.
Grade: 10
Interests: I like to read and write. I like playing D&D with my friends.
Favorite subject in school: English or World Music. I like English because I’ve always been good at it and Mr. Ramsey is a really good teacher. I like World Music because it’s really fun and we have a really good community.
Favorite thing about STHS: The fact it is so small. Everybody kind of knows everybody and I just really like that.
Hilary Vazquez Sanchez
Future Plans After High School: I hopefully get into a 4-year university. Right now my dream school is University of Washington. Hopefully get into a good medical program. I don’t know what I want to do in the medical field right now.
Grade: 11
Interests: Hanging out with my friends and listening to music
Favorite subject in school: My medical terminology class at CAL. I basically just learn the words and the names of the body structures and everyday objects that are in a hospital.
Favorite thing about STHS: The community and the students here. Everyone is so welcoming and everyone knows everyone. Even though we don’t talk to them, we still kind of know them. Even in the hall we’re like, “oh, I know that person.”
Dabney State Park All School Field Trip: May 12th
We are excited for the entire school to head to Dabney State Park on Friday, May 12th! The day will start with a couple hours of habitat restoration/forest management and then quickly transition to fun games and activities in the afternoon. If you have not completed your permission slip, please do so as soon as possible. Copy of the permission slip is listed below. We will be leaving around 8:30am and returning by 2:30pm.
Lunch will be provided and served at Dabney.
As always, students are welcome to bring their own sack lunch or snacks. We request students wear comfortable, layered clothing as the day may start off cool. We recommend students wear shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Students should also bring a water bottle. Please reach out to the office if you have questions or concerns about the trip.

Whenever the office is not notified of an absence, a call is made home via the automated calling system. If the student is going to be out more than three days, you can call the office or email your student's teachers with a request for homework. If your student is going to be out of school for extended period of time due to a vacation or some other event, please have him/her complete a Pre-arranged Absence Form. If your student needs to leave school early or arrive late due to appointments, please call the office or send a note to excuse their absence.
