A reminder that the Back to School Process is online. This must be completed by ALL families, not just new to district or new to Millennium Middle School.

This process needs to be completed by Friday, August 25th in order for your child's schedule to be made available on Monday, August 28th.

Millennium Middle School offices will be open beginning August 15th from 8:00 am- 2:00 pm.

Students may visit the school to find their lockers and classrooms on August 28th (7/8 grade) or August 29th (6th Grade) between 8:00am-2:00pm (closed for lunch 11:30-12:30). Please remind your student to bring their schedule. You do not need to check in, but students must be accompanied by an adult.

Sixth grade students will have a tour on the orientation day on the 29th.

MMS will be closed Friday, September 1st and Monday September 4th in observance of Labor Day.

We are excited to welcome our 6th graders to a fantastic WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) day! Our 8th grade leaders are preparing for fun activities, including touring the school, practicing lockers and meeting new friends. Orientation will be on Tuesday, August 29th at MMS in the large gym (drop off in the back bus loop) from 8:00 am-12:30 pm. We recommend bringing a water bottle, the class schedule from Skyward, and the locker number and combination from Skyward. 6th graders do not need to bring any other materials. Lunch is not provided as this is only a half day event that concludes at 12:30.

Locker numbers and combinations will be located in the "Student Information" section of Skyward's Family Access. Students are responsible for providing their own locks for PE.

If you print your schedule and you have one of the following concerns, please email your student's guidance counselor (according to last name).

• Obvious errors or omissions of required courses
• Duplicate classes
• Not have six classes each semester

Our counselors will address these concerns beginning August 30th. Please write "Scheduling Issue" in the subject line. Please note that due to the complexity of our mater schedule and various constraints (class size, traveling teachers, teachers with multiple course and grade level assignments, etc.), we generally are not able to grant request for schedule changes. Please also keep in mind that we do not make changes based on teacher requests.

If your child takes prescription or over the counter medication, please fill out this form and return it and the medication to the main office. This can be done starting next week, August 21st.

On Thursday, September 14, 2023, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and concluding at 8:00 p.m., parents and guardians are invited to meet their student's teachers and visit their classrooms. This “Open House” is a great time to establish contact with your student’s teachers and learn all about the classes and course expectations. Please bring your students schedule with you (this can also be found on the Skyward app).

SLHS looks forward to another season in the Jungle. Our first home varsity football game is Thursday August 24th 7:00 PM vs Walled Lake Northern. As a reminder children middle school aged and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult while at the game. Large bags, backpacks, spectator footballs, other toys, outside food and beverages are all prohibited. These rules will apply to all home football games.

Occasionally, school districts have to send students home early due to weather conditions, power outages, boiler failures and so on. Please discuss this possibility with your student and devise a plan for him/her to follow. Your plan might involve going straight home, or you may have a student who is going to take care of younger children until you get home. Please make sure your student knows the plan and follows it for their safety and your peace of mind.

All student athletes will need a physical on file dated after April 15, 2023 with the office or ready to hand in order to tryout.

If you have a student entering 7th grade in September 2023 please make sure their immunizations are up to date before the first day of school on September 5. You will need to provide up-to-date immunization records required by law for all students.

Due to an immunization rule change from the Michigan Department of Community Health, waivers exempting children from receiving immunizations can no longer be obtained from a school or childcare. Non-Medical waivers based on religious or philosophical beliefs must first be certified at the Oakland County Health Division. Parents/guardians of children who are unable to receive vaccinations due to medical reasons should consult their healthcare provider for a medical waiver form.
