Fundraiser Pickup
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, October 20th from 3:30-7:00 for our Fundraiser Pickup. Items will be sorted and ready for distribution in the cafeteria.
If you pick your student up in carpool, please pick your student up as normal, park in the front lot and buzz in at Door 1.
It is important that all items get picked up that day as we do not have the freezer space to store them. We appreciate your cooperation.
We still need help from 5:30-7:00. If you would like to help, please sign up here:

No School-Friday, October 21st
Parent Teachers Conferences will be held on Friday, October 21st. Enjoy your 3 day weekend!
No Bus? Now What?
Morning Drop Off Procedures
Do not drop your student off in the parking lot and allow them to wait outside of Door 1.
We are seeing an increasing number of students arrive prior to 8:50. There is not a staff member on duty until this time due to staff meetings, collaboration, and planning time. Please remember that you will need to follow all drop-off and pick-up procedures in order to keep safety as a top priority for all students.
Mr. Loy is at our crosswalk each morning to help support our walkers and bike riders. Do not drop off students in our crosswalk area. Follow the carpool, walker, biker, and bus rider procedures for safety.
Picking up a student:
Hang your carpool number in your rearview mirror, making it visible from outside.
Enter our driveway, following the right curb to the back of our building.
Stay to the right as you wrap around the back parking lot and move towards door 6. Students will exit the building in the order in which they were called.
Drivers will be asked to continue moving forward to the corner of the building (silver pole) in order to fill as many cars as possible. Eight cars could be loaded at one time.
In order to keep this flow, please be respectful to other families and always pull forward.
Don’t have a carpool number?
Park in the front parking lot and report to the front office, after busses are dismissed.
You will be required to show your ID to be verified in order to pick up your student(s).
Costume Parade & Harvest Party
A yearly tradition at Haverhill is to have a costume parade, prior to our classroom harvest party. The parade will be held outside this year on Friday, October 28, pending weather reports for the day. If it rains on our parade, we will move inside.
All costumes will be put on over clothing or part of the students attire for the day. Students will not change in the restrooms, they will be adding it over their original outfit that was worn to school.
- Students will create, find, or put together a creative costume that they love.
- An adult will approve the costume to make sure that it is appropriate for school. No scary costumes. Keep your costumes simple.
- Students that brings a costume to school that is a concern, may not be able to wear it. Teachers will use their discretion.
- Students will place the costume in their bookbag to bring to school.
- Teachers will have students change into costumes prior to the parade which will start around 2:30.
- Each grade level will take one lap around the school as other students line the perimeter of the back lot or hallways and cheer on one another.
- Volunteers that are helping with the classroom party and have prior approval, will be able to stay with the classroom for the parade.
- Doors will open for the parade at 2:15 and visitors will be directed to the cafeteria.
If outside, the parade will occur around our back lot.
We are excited to continue our HES tradition!
Flex Day-November 2nd
Flex days are scheduled school days where students access their learning at home.
During a Flex Day, teachers will use the afternoon to engage in professional development. This is a form of education for teachers designed to guide and enhance teaching strategies, techniques and tips, as well as to provide all teachers collaboration time with other educators to
improve their own teaching or classroom environment.
The Flex Day will begin at 9:30 a.m. for all Elementary students.
To be counted present for the day, students will need to be present for the community circle with their teacher. Students will log on to their Canvas calendar to access the link for the scheduled 9:30 Community Circle.
During this time, the teacher will take attendance and preview the day built for students in their Canvas module.
Be prepared for Outdoor Recess!
As the weather starts to turn cold, you may be wondering what your student should bring with them to school for outdoor recess? All students need these five items to play in the snow: BOOTS, SNOW PANTS, GLOVES, HAT, and a COAT.
These five items will be needed to play in the snow, or they will be asked to remain on the blacktop area.
Students will be going out each day until the "real-feel" temperature goes below 0 degrees.
Where do we look at the "real-feel" temperature? From Accuweather.com.
