Nixon Elementary Weekly Update

• Culvers Nixon Night is TUESDAY: On November 7, we'd love to have you join us for dinner at the Hiawatha Culver's (1005 N Center Point Rd, Hiawatha, IA 52233) between 4:00-8:00pm. 10% of all sales go back to our Nixon PTA (no flyer needed!) Please tell your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, etc. to drive through our dine in to help raise money for our Nixon PTA. See flyer for below with more information. • Hy Vee Receipt Donations: We are in full-on competition mode as we collect our Hy Vee receipts and turn them in here at Nixon. We have a battle between Team Kindergarten/1st Grade/Strat II, Team Green, and Team Gold. For each Cedar Rapids, Marion, or Hiawatha receipt we collect (store, gas station, or drugstore), we get $1 back to Nixon for every $200 collected. The winning team who brings in the most $$$$ in receipts will win a POPCORN PARTY! Who will win?!?! Turn in your receipts and stay tuned to find out! See flyer below for more details.
  
  
• Cold Weather is Upon Us: Don't forget to send your learners to school with coats, hats, and mittens/gloves every day. Now that the weather is getting chilly, we want to be sure everyone is ready for outdoor recess. We go outside for 2 recesses a day unless it is raining or the "feels like" temperature is 9 degrees or colder. Be sure to send your learners prepared for outside play time!!!!
  
  
• Reminder about No School Days: With Thanksgiving Break right around the corner I wanted to remind you that we do NOT have school November 22, 23, or 24.
