Springmill STEM Family Update
November 5, 2023
Principal's Message
Good afternoon,
It sure has been a beautiful beginning to November! Unfortunately, we won't get to enjoy it as long today, since the sun is going to set at about 5:15. I'm not a fan of daylight savings time. Going to bed may be tough tonight for students, since it will technically be an hour early. One tip I heard is to make sure they are physically active today, especially the 2 hours before bedtime.
Last week we were able to bring in over 180 people for our Literacy Night on Thursday. Families worked with students at different stations on activities related to reading. We had an amazing dinner of chicken alfredo or spaghetti and meatballs, salad and rolls. (Personally, I think the alfredo was the best!) On Monday, we will be drawing our raffle winners and sending those prizes home with students.
This Friday, our merchandise and prizes for our fall fundraiser will be in! Please look for information in your student's folders if he/she/they sold any items.
Springmill STEM themed shirts & sweatshirts are still available to purchase for 2 more weeks! They would make great Christmas gifts. Look for the link to the online store below to purchase.
Don't forget, tomorrow is Picture Day! Please send money envelopes with your students.
Finally, I would like to take a moment to share how important parent support means to our students and teachers. Please impress upon your students the importance of following the district Code of Conduct and schoolwide expectations. Families having conversations at home about some of those expectations to make sure they know that you support the school is a game changer. I would be happy to meet with any parent/guardian that wants to know more about the expectations. I'd rather have a meeting before, than after, a behavior concern has come up.
Please make sure you are having your student(s) read every day! Even 10 minutes makes a huge difference.
Sincerely,
Cara Will
