COLLEGE & SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Counseling Office Newsletter
Friday, May 12th Counselor Connection Newsletter
Attention, Parents! Eagan’s July 4th Funfest is currently looking for scholarship candidates!
The Funfest scholarship program revolves around volunteerism and developing leaders who will serve as positive role models as ambassadors for the Funfest and our community.
Ambassadors spend a year (July 2023 – July 2024) visiting other communities throughout the Twin Cities area; participating in parades, coronations, and volunteer work. These experiences provide valuable leadership skills and create memories to last a lifetime. At the end of the year, Ambassadors are rewarded with a $2,000 scholarship!
Candidates must live in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, or Rosemount. Several Eastview High School students have participated in this program over the years and have made a huge difference in our community.
There will be an information meeting on Wednesday, May 10th, 7:00pm, at the Eagan Community Center. To learn more about the Scholarship Program visit: https://eaganfunfest.org/ambassadors/.
Upcoming College Visits
UPCOMING COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY VISITS
Students should stop by the Counseling Office and get a pass to attend the college/university/military Rep Visit prior to the right visit. These university/college or military visits are small group meetings typically lasting 20/30 minutes. These admission reps are often times the same people that review college applications, so it's a great connection for students.

The varsity ran into an extremely tough Shakopee team on the road Thursday night, dropping the match 3 sets to 1. Connors and freshman libero Aiden Wilson anchored the defense with 11 and 9 digs respectively, while senior Colton Bergland had four blocks. Senior and freshmen setters Srish Kattegummula and Brice Dehnel did a solid job of running the offense all night. The team is in action again Saturday at the St. Paul Johnson tournament.
Despite a lot of recent success, the JV team dropped their conference road match to Shakopee in straight sets. Freshman Colin Nathan led the team with 5 points, followed by junior outside hitter Will Fulford with 4. The team bounces back into action Saturday at the St. Paul Johnson tournament.
JV2 Blue had a dominating night at Shakopee in week 2 of their league. The boys won two matches in straight sets, including a convincing win over Prior Lake Gold. The team continues to improve and is looking forward to their home JV2 tournament this Saturday.
