EPCUSD Construction Update
June 2022
Elmwood Elementary
Thank you to everyone who attended our ground breaking ceremony on May 11. We had beautiful weather and it was an exciting way to begin the referendum project. Elmwood Elementary is officially closed for the summer and the facility has been turned over to our construction contractor, ICI, for the next thirteen weeks.
In just one short week a lot has happened at Elmwood Elementary. The entire first floor of classrooms and offices have been moved into the gymnasium and demolition of ceilings and walls have begun. This month the hallway floors will be replaced and new plumbing installed. The old boiler room will be removed from the courtyard and the new boiler room on the north side of the building will be enclosed. Pictures of the progress will be continuously posted on our district website, https://www.epcusd401.org/construction

John Mills Elementary
John Mills Ground Breaking Ceremony took place on May 17 . We were so pleased with the number of students and parents who were able to attend. The construction on the west side of John Mills is underway and things are moving quickly. The movers were able to move everything out of the building in two days and demolition has begun for the addition on the west side. The entire west side of John Mills will be fenced off to allow adequate space for staging and machinery to work in the area. This month the foundation and structural walls for the new addition will be completed. Interior demolition will be done throughout the building, which will provide updated and improved learning spaces. Pictures of the progress will be continuously posted on our district website, https://www.epcusd401.org/construction
