COVID-19 Update from PRAT
The D41 community-based Pandemic Response Advisory Team (PRAT) is composed of representatives from partner organizations that work directly with District 41 including professionals from the scientific and medical fields. The team reports on their work monthly at the Board of Education workshop meetings. In addition, the team also provides information to the distinct about Covid-19 when there is new information to share.

New Telephone Interpreting Services Coming to District 41
District 41 is pleased to announce that it is expanding its support for multilingual families. In the next few weeks, District staff will be able to connect with families who are not comfortable communicating in English with the assistance of a telephone interpreting service. This service will allow District 41 staff to access immediate interpreting by telephone in multiple languages for emergencies or important unplanned communication by telephone. This new resource for staff reflects District 41’s commitment toward communicating effectively with our families.
Board Governance Recognition
The Glen Ellyn School District 41 Board of Education is one of 15 school boards to earn the Illinois Association of School Board’s (IASB) 2020 School Board Governance Recognition designation. This recognition is designed to acknowledge school boards that have engaged in activities and modeled behaviors that lead to excellence in local school governance in support of quality public education. Congratulations to the District 41 school board! Thank you for your dedication and service to District 41.
Master Board Member Recognition
Congratulations to Board of Education Vice President Jason Loebach for achieving Master Board Member status through the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB). This status recognizes the time and effort board members devote to leadership activities and service in their role as a board member. Congratulations to Vice President Loebach. District 41 appreciates you!
Other Board members who have received this recognition include Board President Robert Bruno and Bruce Currie.
District 41 Selected for Equity Micro-Credential Program
District 41 was selected as one of two school districts that will participate in an Equity Micro-Credential Program created in collaboration with the Regional Offices of Education (ROE), school districts, and universities funded and supported by the Center for the Study of Education Policy’s (CSEP) federal Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grant.
Several members of the District 41 Cabinet Team have committed to participating. From the ROE announcement letter to Superintendent Kaczkowski, “We are in awe that in this very COVID heavy work you are engaged in within your districts, equity issues found space in your vision and in your hearts.”

Free Meals for Pick Up on Wednesdays

District 41 is providing FREE meal service for all children enrolled at each of our schools as part of the USDA National School Lunch and Breakfast program.
Distribution of all meals takes place every Wednesday at Hadley Junior High. Parents/guardians have the option of picking up food at one of two designated times, 6:30 - 7:45 am OR 11:30 - 12:30 pm, in a drive thru format in the front of Hadley. Children do not need to be present for pick up. Meals for each child will be provided with 5 days of breakfasts and lunches to take to eat wherever they may be learning. CLICK HERE FOR THE FLYER

Tech Support During Remote Learning
Resources are currently available on the District 41 Tech at Home webpage. The page can be found by clicking the D41 Tech at Home button on the D41.org homepage or by visiting www.d41.org/techathome.
At this time, parents can review suggestions on how to resolve problems using Chromebooks or communicate with the Technology Department directly for help. Additionally, families can find videos in English and Spanish about using Chromebooks and technological platforms, such as Google Classroom and Skyward.
District 41 is working to build a robust library of resources for families. The tools and videos posted on the webpage will continue to grow, so the webpage will be updated on a regular basis. Please review our current offerings and check back often to view newly added resources.
