Welcome back! We hope that the long weekend brought you time with family and friends and a welcome respite from your every day trials and tribulations.

The weekend also brought the return of Tenafly alums to our district, taking part in a host of events. It was wonderful to see so many of our former students return to share their stories and partake in the weekend's activities. Please be sure to come back and visit us again soon!

Thank you to all of our families, staff, and community members who came out to support our theater program's performance of Spring Awakening. The cast, musicians, and crew, along with our talented theater and music staff provided us with an amazing night of entertainment. To everyone involved in the production, we applaud you!

A reminder that Middle School student-led conferences take place this evening and our elementary school conferences are scheduled for December 9th and 10th. There will be early dismissal for elementary schools only on December 9th and 10th.

Parent-Teacher Conference Time is here. As a reminder, for elementary school parents, in-person conferences will be offered during the afternoon hours of two consecutive early dismissal days (December 9 and 10, 2021), but can be virtual at the parents' request.

Only parent-teacher conferences held on designated early dismissal days in the elementary schools will be held in person. Evening conferences will be fully virtual for all TPS schools. These virtual conferences will occur between 5:30 and 8:30pm and will be hosted from the teacher's classroom or an alternate location that is secure and free from distractions.

Congratulations to Coach Anthony Zorovich on being awarded the 2021 YMCA Special Achievement Award for excellence in Coaching. As a coach since 1997 and teacher since 2004, the athletes, students, faculty, staff, and administrators of Tenafly Public Schools have been fortunate to work with Mr. Zorovich as a leader, educator, and colleague. He currently coaches Girls Tennis, Bowling, and Boys Tennis! Mr. Zorovich, you make us Tiger Proud!

Tenafly High School partners with the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), a leader in study abroad programs. THS students receive priority acceptance for CIEE’s four-week summer study abroad programs. Students are encouraged to apply for the CIEE Global Navigator Scholarship program. Over the years, Tik Tok has posted challenges to engage students in various activities and then create/post videos of themselves that demonstrate their participation in the challenge, some of which have proven harmful. The monthly challenges currently being promoted are not only harmful but are in violation of school policies. We ask that our families consider speaking with their students to express unified vigilance against these challenges in our schools. Thank you.

Looking for a way to better manage your or your student's time? Use Google Calendar. iCal, or Outlook Calendar to manage time effectively! Students as young as 5th grade can benefit from online calendars. All three calendar types can be synced between phone, tablet, and computer and include features such as text reminders for appointments, color coding of different types of events, task lists with due dates, and the ability to schedule recurring events. Many students find the visual representations of chunks of time in their day more useful than listing times (i.e., karate class 4:15-5:30).
