Rancho School Volunteers
Application and Clearance Process
To help ensure the safety of our students and staff and to protect our highly regarded instructional programs, TVUSD has identified an application and clearance process for community members that wish to volunteer at or visit a school campus. TVUSD utilizes the Raptor System for visitor and volunteer check-in and verification.
If you were cleared last school year for Volunteering thru the Raptor system then you do not need to complete the Volunteer Application process again unless items have expired (see the front office).
~The application clearance process takes time. Plan accordingly and allow for up to two weeks for processing the volunteer application.
~If you plan to participate in a school field trip (onsite & offsite), volunteer for any class or class/school event during the school day/classroom then your Volunteer Application must be cleared 2 weeks prior to the event.

How do I schedule volunteering?
Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher to express interest in volunteering. The teacher will put together a schedule for volunteers and specific dates/times will be assigned for those interested in volunteering. Each teacher will coordinate their own volunteer schedule and communicate with interested families regarding when they can come to volunteer. Please know there are times throughout the school year when volunteering hours are adjusted due to onsite academic learning.
Volunteers make such a positive impact on our students, our classrooms, and our campus! We are excited to welcome our volunteers back to The Ranch!
Can I volunteer at the beginning of the school day?
I have an extra hour today, is it ok if I drop in and see if the teacher needs help?
When a volunteer arrives at an unplanned time, the teacher may not have anything prepared for the volunteer to complete and it can be disruptive to instructional time for the teacher to stop instruction in order to quickly prepare something for the parent.
