Cold Weather
Families, it is that time of year when the weather can get extremely cold. We will still have Outdoor Recess, unless we have rain and/or extreme temperatures, so make sure kids bring their jackets every day!
Spring Open House with Perot Museum of Nature and Science
We are so excited to announce that the Perot Museum of Nature and Science will be coming to CTIS on February 20th from 5-7 pm. We would love to have you and your family come join us for this exciting event. Here is a description of what we will do during that time:
Community Science Meet Ups are 2 hour-long hands-on, station-based experiences in which educators bring the supplies and materials needed for 6 stations all related to STEM learning. Here are the stations brought out to CSM’s:
· Paper Rockets
· Digital Microscopes
· Robotics (Ozobots, Sphero’s or VEX)
· Makey Makey Circuitry
· LEGO Gravity Racers
· Marble Roller Coasters
Families will go from station to station at their own pace and work together to complete them all in a large space such as a gym or cafeteria.
Book Fair During Spring Open House!
All Pro Dads
We are starting an All Pro Dad Chapter @ CTIS!!
Hello CTIS Families,
We are excited to announce that we will be starting an All Pro Dad Chapter here at Cross Timbers!
All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage with their kids! This of course is not just limited to dads, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids.
Our first gathering is scheduled for January 26, 2024 and we would love to see you there. If you would like to come, please RSVP here! https://allprodadchapters.com/chapters/4929. For more information or questions, contact our team captain, Geoffrey Holman at this email: geoffreyholman@misdmail.org.
If you would like to be a part of All Pro Dads, please fill out the background check. At CTIS we love our volunteers! But, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Those wanting to become MISD volunteers must go through the following security measures before serving in the district:
- Volunteers must provide a driver’s license or another form of identification with the applicant’s photograph. The verification method must be issued by an entity of the U.S. government.
- Volunteers must pass a criminal background check.
- MISD uses a reputable third-party company to obtain criminal background checks.
- Your social security number (SSN) is used to conduct the background check. However, MISD cannot require parties who are not employed with the district to provide social security information. If an applicant opts out of providing their SSN, the applicant may not be allowed to volunteer.
- Credit scores and credit reports are not obtained during the background check process. The information given will only be used to determine criminal history. (View the rights under FCRA.)
After individuals have completed the criteria above and are cleared to volunteer, the campus will contact the volunteer and inform them when their services are to begin.
Begin the application process here. Select Cross Timbers Intermediate.
We look forward to seeing you soon,
Coach Holman

Yearbook Orders
Lunch Schedule
Free & Reduced Meals - Families that are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals must complete a meal application. Get details on the Free & Reduced Meals page. All other students will pay full price for breakfast and lunch at the listed rates.
MISD Student Nutrition is dedicated to feeding the students of Mansfield ISD. Every reasonable effort is made to notify parents of student negative balances. Parents are encouraged to utilize our online meal payment system (SchoolCafè) to monitor student balances.
Food Deliveries
No Food Delivery Service Will Be Accepted
Mansfield ISD has made the decision that no food delivery service (such as Uber Eats, Doordash, and Grubhub) will be allowed on any campus. The rationale behind this decision is to limit building access to any individual who does not need to be on campus. Any delivery ordered through any of these services will be turned away at the front door. Parents/Family Members are always welcome to deliver food for their students. Family Members or others listed on a student's Skyward account will be allowed to drop off food on a table in the front entry area. Sticky notes are provided to label items! Thank you for your understanding and helping us to keep our students safe!
Families that are eligible for free and reduced meals must complete a meal application.
Families can apply for Free & Reduced Meals:
1. Through SchoolCafé, the new online meal payments system for Mansfield ISD
OR
2. By submitting a paper applicationPDF (available in Spanish hereF R Meal Application S P A NPDF). Individuals may also pick up a copy at the Mansfield ISD Student Nutrition Department (1151 Mansfield Webb Road, Arlington, TX 76002) or any MISD school.
The online process is not only safe and secure, but also completely private and available anytime, anywhere!
· Safe & Secure - SchoolCafé follows industry best practices in maintaining security. We use 128-bit encryption to secure data transfer between your browser and our server. From the time you login until the time you logout, all data is encrypted.
· Private & Available - Apply online in the comfort and privacy of your own home. The online service is available 24/7 anytime, anywhere there is an Internet connection!
· Fast - Your data is transmitted to the Nutrition Office the same day you apply, allowing for quicker processing so you can receive benefits faster.
