Parent Satisfaction Survey
Urbandale Community School District is on a continuous journey to make our schools the best places for students to learn, staff to work, and parents to send their children for a good education. In this effort, we appreciate your support. It is important to gather feedback from you to celebrate successes and identify areas for growth. Please take a few minutes and complete this Parent Satisfaction Survey to help provide this feedback. The survey is open from today, February 8 through Thursday (4:00) March 11, 2021.
Once the survey is complete, the results will be analyzed by an outside organization. The data from the survey will be sent to each school and the Superintendent. Then, the results of the survey will be shared with parents and the community.
The survey can be accessed online at: UCSD Parent Satisfaction Survey
Thank you for interest in and support of your child’s education with us. Please contact me if you have any questions concerning the survey.

Teaching All, Reaching All
There are many great things at Valerius that happen during the school year, weeks, and days! During our 60 day review with our building leadership team, we thought it would be a good idea to start highlighting this work for parents! Our #1 goal of the school is make certain that we are doing our best to meet the needs of every learner at Valerius.
During this process we start by studying the health of our grade level core systems. Our goal is to ensure that general classroom instruction meets the needs of 80% of our students. If there is a gap across a whole class, then we plan a class wide intervention to ensure that all students receive the instruction they need.
Additionally, we talk about students who receive or are in need of extra support in or out of the classroom. We study the instructional package to check that we are all aligned. If the student is making adequate progress we celebrate! If the student is not making adequate progress we discuss a plan for next steps to tweak our plan.
Everything is documented so that we can follow a students instructional plan from year to year. Teachers implement the instructional plan and collect progress monitoring data as needed.
