Smith County Road and Bridge Bond
From the Smith County Commissioners Court:
Today is election day!
Smith County seeks to keep its commitment to improving its road infrastructure by placing a $45 million bond package on the November ballot. If approved, the County will continue work on its six-year Road & Bridge plan by repaving or reconstructing 283 miles of roadway during the next three years, in addition to the 200 miles of roadway already repaved or reconstructed during Phase I. In 2017, the community approved a $39.5 million bond package by a 73 percent margin to fund Phase I. This $45 million bond package for Phase 2 will have a tax impact of 0.76 cents per $100 valuation, or about $15 per year for a homeowner with a home valued at $200,000.
Election Day is November 2. For more information about road projects planned for Phase 1 and 2, visit: www.smith-county.com/i-want-to/view/county-road-projects
