Findley Elementary School
June 11, 2021
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Greetings Findley Families,
We are almost there! One more week, Dragons. On behalf of all of us here at Findley, thank you. We could not have done it this year without you. The support you provided your learners at home, and the consistent encouragement and gratitude you provided us, helped get us through this long, harder than most, year. We appreciate you beyond measure.
We are very much looking forward to celebrating our successes this year as we close out this school year next week. Please be sure you are checking in with your child’s teacher(s) for any special events slated to occur as students and staff celebrate the end of the school year.
Beginning June 28, all communication you receive from us will be coming to you via ParentSquare. ParentSquare will be replacing SchoolMessenger. You will continue to login to ParentVue to view grades, pay fines and see test scores. To learn more about ParentSquare, visit the district webpage: https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/parentsquare
Lastly, I’d like to close by wishing all of LGBTQ+ families, students and staff a very Happy Pride. We see you, we celebrate you and we stand with you!
Have a great weekend and a spectacular summer!

Help needed
Do you (or folks you know) have 2 hours to give in June or July? We need help packing lunches for kids during the summer: from milk cartons to apples, you simply add items to each bag. Six different sites to choose from, easy and rewarding, short shifts, and a great way to kick start volunteer hours for '21/22 school year!
Perhaps you remember packing or delivering spring food boxes or packing December meal bags with family and friends, well we now need some help this summer: Just two hours in the morning and four different days to choose from each week. So grab your middle/high school student, your neighbor, your friend and help serve our kids with bagged-lunches. Thank you, have fun, and feel free to share this opportunity with others!

She will serve a bridge gap, providing up to about 10 sessions before she moves students on to a long-term counselor if necessary. They are set up to take every major insurance plan including Kaiser for OHP kids. They will also have an intake person who can help families get the kids on OHP.
Rent Assistance
The Oregon eviction protections are set to expire at the end of June. This means renters will need to pay back rent that's still due.
The state will start taking applications on 5/18/21, for additional rental assistance through the Oregon Emergency Rent Assistance Program. People are eligible if at least one person in the household had a financial impact from the pandemic (a lost job, decrease in income), and their household income is at or below 80% of the area's median income (about $77,000 for a family of 4 in the Portland metro, or $51,000 in rural communities).
Tenants can be approved for up to 12 months of past-due rent, and three months' upcoming rent. The payments will go directly to landlords, property owners, and utility companies.
The money will be allocated based on need, so everyone who applies for the program will go through a review process.
Assistance is offered to all renters, regardless of citizenship or immigration status.

Dear Findley Passport Club members,

3. Learn this month's maps
4. Take the quiz when you are ready
This is a whole new experience and we understand that there will be a lot of questions, learnings and changes as we navigate this new virtual Passport Club.
Please rest assured that we are dedicated to making this the best that we can under the circumstances and ask for your patience and understanding as we all go through this process together.
With that being said, let's have some fun and travel the world together!
In addition, here is a reminder in regards to Passport Club:
