Principal's Desk
Greetings Students and Families
Summer vacation is winding down and the new school year is gearing up! Are you ready for an exciting year of learning? Well, we are definitely ready! I would first like to welcome our new students and say hello to our returning students. I hope you have enjoyed your summer vacation. During the summer, we have been reflecting, planning, and preparing for the upcoming school year. In addition to relaxing, vacationing, and spending time with families and friends, many of our teachers and staff have been attending professional development opportunities and collaborating with each other in order to continue with our school motto “Star Studded Success.”
The Prince George’s County Executive Leadership Team has set the tone for the upcoming school year with an emphasis on “Leadership through Change”. We will accomplish this at Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Elementary by setting high academic expectations for all children, setting high accountability standards for staff, and providing supportive systems to assure they are met for all. We will constantly review our school culture and engage the community. Together we will ensure that each of our students are college and/or career ready.
We are excited to welcome you to the CMIT South Tiger Family and on our “Star Studded Success” Journey. We will welcome all students on Monday August 28, 2023.
Sincerely,
Ronald A. Miller, Jr.
