Chester Elementary School

Dear Parents and Guardians,

So much has been said about the "social-emotional" needs of our kids the past couple of years, and a lot of it is true. Regardless of where you stand on this, I would like to take an opportunity to highlight something that is indeed a risk for our kids, and that is the issue of "screen time" and just how much of an impact this has on their mental development and well being.

There is a growing body of research coming out that supports the negative effects of too much screen time for kids (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.). This update will focus on the amount of time that students spend on devices, with another update in the future focusing on what they're watching.

🎵Parents & Friends of Chester Music Programs! 🎵

Our Chester Band students are excited to get our music program back up and running and would like to attend the Reno Jazz Festival on Friday April 28th! 🎺

Would you please consider helping us fund the cost of bus transportation, RJF festival passes, and other expenses associated with this wonderful experience?

Our fundraising goal is $3,000 so that students in grades six through twelve can attend.
