News and Events You Can Use
Japanese Connections
Japanese connection students in Sensei Davis’s class learned the manners and etiquette of おはし, chopsticks. Over the weekend, they posted their selfie of using Ohashi! Yes, they can eat potato chips, pasta, rice, noodles and grapes using Ohashi よくできました!Good job, students!
Feathery Forensics
7th grade science students were sent on a mission to find who was responsible for the woodland creatures reported missing in the Hundred Acre Wood. The top suspect was a Great Horned Owl, who denied any involvement. Students studied food chains and webs, and used their excellent forensic skills to dissect owl pellets. They discovered the remains of birds, mice and other small rodents with the help of a reference chart showing images of bones from various creatures. The completed reports agreed that the poor critters had fallen victim to the ravenous owl.

Georgia Milestones Testing
Georgia Milestones testing in Middle School is April 24 through May 5. The tests measure knowledge and skills in language arts and mathematics for all students. 8th graders have additional tests in science and social studies. Milestones tests provide critical information about achievement and readiness for the next level of learning. With the absence of significant testing data from the last two years, this year’s scores will establish a new baseline for schools and the district. Participation is crucial. The district expects all students in grades 3-8 to participate. Thank you for helping us ensure a high rate of student participation.
