A Message from the Superintendent
Dear Families, Staff, and Community Members,
This is my final message to you as Superintendent and as such, I want to express my gratitude for my 12 years in The Winnetka Public Schools. As I look back on my years in the District, I am truly proud of our collaborative efforts to continue to strive for excellence while holding steady to our Progressive values. Our students are inspiring and make the most challenging decisions worthy of the effort. The Winnetka community has a passion for putting children at the center of all that we do, and it has been an honor to ensure that commitment remains steadfast.
To our students, I deeply appreciate being part of your journey through The Winnetka Public Schools. I am inspired by your resilience, particularly this past two years.
To our 2022 graduates, you are making a meaningful difference in the world as you move forward from the District. Know your voice matters and use it wisely.
To our teachers and staff, thank you for your daily dedication. You are the heart of the District, making each day in the classroom an opportunity for students to connect, learn and grow; ensuring our buildings are clean and safe; and supporting the important work of our District and schools.
To our administrators, thank you for your leadership and unwavering devotion to serving our staff, families and students, especially in the most challenging moments.
To our community, thank you for entrusting me with the leadership role of Superintendent over the past eight years. We have made incredible strides due to our collective efforts.
As I pass the baton to Dr. Tess as your new Superintendent, I know you are in competent hands. Our educators, administrative team and Board are eager to continue the work outlined in our Strategic Plan and our Portrait of a Graduate. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and wisdom. It has been an honor to serve as your Superintendent.
Sincerely,
Dr. Trisha Kocanda
Superintendent
