Our Friendship Day celebration was so much fun!
Thank you to all the parent volunteers and high school students who spent the day with us here celebrating Friendship Day. The kids got to travel around to different classrooms with different students from different classes and the thought it was amazing! They even got to eat lunch and play at recess with their new group of friends! Making friends is so very important. We have been talking about how to make friends and to approach new friends at recess or even in the classroom as they never know when they are going to meet their new best friend!!
At Friendship Day, the kiddos went to 6 different classrooms to meet 6 different teachers and do 6 different activities. They played Bingo, did a STEM activity, made butter, made friendship bracelets, played cooperative games and got to listen to "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Turkey" be read to them and they each even got their very own copy to keep for their at home library!! They also shook their tail feathers and did the Turkey Hokey Pokey, went on a Turkey Hunt, and chicka-boom rocked the day away with their sweet dance moves.
Their most favorite part though is getting to all eat together in the cafeteria, enjoying the amazing turkey dinner that was cooked for them, and then getting to play with all their new friends together at recess!
Cookies with Santa is right around the corner!!!
PLEASE send in your RSVP's no later than Tuesday 11/29 when we return from break!

With all the holiday food shopping we are all doing... don't forget to be saving and sending in all those Stracks receipts! We can't wait to see which class wins the contest this month! Mrs. Schiller's class won (by only $5.74!!!) a popsicle party the first month, Miss Buckley's class won a donut party last month... who will win what next?!? We can't wait to find out!
SPARE CHANGE DRIVE!!
We are having a Spare Change Drive where all the money will be donated to our Building Brickies to donate for Giving Tuesday on 11/28. We kick off the collection on 11/1 and it goes all the way through 11/28 so send that spare change in!! The class with the most money collected will earn an ice cream party! Here is also a link to make donations online if you would like to contribute that way.
Our VIRTUAL lost and found!!!
This is a great link to keep handy as it is our virtual lost and found. Every couple of weeks, SRO Joe will update the photos of things we have found around the school. As a rule of thumb, remember that whatever you send your child to school with- LABEL IT!!! That makes it super easy to return to them when it pops up. We will post this link on facebook when it is updated too. Always send an email to SRO Joe when you see something in our lost and found that belongs to your child though- he is the one in charge =)
