Student - Family - Advisor Conferences
As the end of the term was on Wednesday, we want to share the progress your student has made towards graduation. Student - Family - Advisor Conferences will be held at FAHS on Thursday, October 26th from 4:00 - 7:00pm. Please look for a text or email from your student's HOMES teacher for a time to sign up. The conferences can be in person or on Zoom.
Don't know how to get a hold of your student's HOMES teacher? Call Kris Elfstrom and she will help you figure that out. She can be reached at 651.604.3800
FAHS School Pictures
All students at FAHS will have pictures taken on Thursday, October 26 morning to update our student management system as well as to create student IDs for individuals who request them. If you would like a jpeg of your student's picture, please complete this form and a digital copy of the picture will be emailed to you. There is no charge for receiving the digital copy.
You will be able to send the picture to your favorite photo printer company (Shutterfly, Walgreens, Costco, Wal-Mart, etc.) to get copies of the picture in the sizes you want
Some students had their pictures taken at Open House in August so they don't have to have their pictures taken unless they want a retake.
Information about District’s Transition to Grading for Equity
“Grading, if done differently, can be accurate, not infected with bias, and can intrinsically motivate students to learn. Grades can clearly and more objectively describe what students know and can do.”
-Joe Feldman, Grading for Equity
Too often when we ask our children how they did on an assignment or test they will tell us how many points they received or what letter grade they earned. However, students rarely share what they learned or still need to learn.
In Roseville Area Schools, we are working to change from traditional grading practices focused on points to grading practices focused on learning so we can change our conversations with students and families from how many points they earned on an assignment or test to what the students learned and still need to work on.
For more information about Grading for Equity, including the research that led to this important transition, information about what it means for our students, and links for families who want additional resources, please click here.
Social Studies Curriculum Survey
Dear families, we are seeking feedback on our FAHS social studies courses. Your input will help us create better classes!
MCA Test Scores
You can now see your student’s 2023 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) Individual Student Report in Synergy ParentVue. This report shows your child’s overall score in each subject that was tested last year, as well as information about achievement level and their past performance. There is also a QR code for a video explaining the results in more detail. For information on accessing the report, click here.
