Principal's Message
Greetings Springwater Students and Families,
1st semester grades posted this week to ParentVue/StudentVue. Please reach out to the office if you are unable to access them. We have also reached out to all families of students who did not receive credit in 1 or more 1st semester classes. We are requesting all students who did not pass a class last semester to participate in after school support so we can ensure they get back on track this semester.
Next week marks the beginning of our 8th grade recruitment. Over the next two weeks we will be hosting small groups of interested 8th graders from each GBSD middle school. I always enjoy meeting the next potential class of Springwater Titans! If you know someone who would like to attend Springwater (they don't have to be a current 8th grader), they can complete an application directly from our website.
Parents and Guardians: we want your feedback regarding how things are going with your student and Springwater! We value your thoughts and ideas. Please take a moment to complete the following survey. In a few weeks, we will also be collecting feedback and ideas directly from students through a different survey.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to reach out and problem-solve when questions or challenges arise.
Take care,
Ryan Blaszak

February Spotlight Students
Imani Poole
Grade: 9
Interests: Horse riding, reading, volunteering at a horse rescue
Favorite subject in school: Maybe science? Just because I like school work. It keeps me busy.
Favorite thing about STHS: Probably the teachers. They’re nice to talk to and sometimes I can hide away in their classrooms, like during lunch.
Harlow Holman
Grade: 10
Interests: I like to draw, of course. I like photo and video editing. I think that’s pretty fun. I like comic books and cartoons.
Favorite subject in school: I’m not too big on any of the school subjects.
Favorite thing about STHS: I’m not bullied as much. Every school I’ve been to before this one, I was relentlessly bullied and harassed. This one is relatively good about that.
Rhionna Wilson
Grade: 11
Interests: I do beauty pageants. They usually tend to be “benefit pageants” that benefit charities and organizations. The next one I’m doing is to benefit the Northwest Sarcoma Foundation.
Favorite subject in school: History. Anything history. I have extensive knowledge on royal history and I used to put together slideshows of history bits for extra credit in middle school.
Favorite thing about STHS: The staff. The staff members actually care about you. When I was going to a larger-scale public school, it was not-personal. They barely knew your name, let alone individualized help for each kid.

Share your ideas about the future of the West Gresham Building!
The Gresham-Barlow School District needs your input on the future uses of the vacant West Gresham Elementary School Building. The District is considering re-purposing the building to house multiple District and community services. To gather feedback, the school district is using a tool called ThoughtExchange so as many people as possible can participate by sharing their thoughts online. We want to know: What are your thoughts about how we could best use this building and what services might best go in this structure?
Participating takes only a couple of minutes! Share your Feedback

Whenever the office is not notified of an absence, a call is made home via the automated calling system. If the student is going to be out more than three days, you can call the office or email your student's teachers with a request for homework. If your student is going to be out of school for extended period of time due to a vacation or some other event, please have him/her complete a Pre-arranged Absence Form. If your student needs to leave school early or arrive late due to appointments, please call the office or send a note to excuse their absence.
