Get Free Rides on OC Bus throughout Orange County
The Youth Ride Free program allows Orange County youth ages 6 to 18 to ride all OC Bus fixed-route service for free for travel to school, work or fun.
Passes and required parental request forms are available at participating Orange County schools.
Though many use the pass to travel to school, it can also be used to access jobs, libraries and summer activities such as trips to the beach, Knotts Berry Farm and the OC Fair.
The pass helps youth become familiar with the advantages of public transportation while taking cars off the road, thereby easing congestion and air pollution.
OC Bus offers service on more than 50 routes with over 5,000 bus stops. OC Bus provides clean, reliable, and convenient service throughout Orange County.
Learn more about the pass here.

From the Spartan Wellspace - Stress
Stress is a universal experience, but some handle it better than others. The reason why some are better at overcoming stress is their use of coping strategies and resilience. To increase our capacity to handle stress we need to dedicate time to grow our resilience, practice coping strategies, set boundaries and take time for self-wellbeing.
If you are feeling stressed, some coping strategies you can try including mindfulness, physical exercise, or actively trying to change the stressful situation. For example, you can change your expectations. Furthermore, you can take responsibility for the situation and initiate change yourself by engaging in problem-solving, or you can distance yourself from the stress, amongst many other options. Regardless of what you chose you must act to actively change the situation for yourself.
You may also be a situation where you have no power over the stressful situation, which is where you would rely on your resilience. Resilience is your ability to overcome stressful situations. Resilience can be fostered by having a good foundation in both physical and mental health. To grow your resilience, you can try to get more sleep, have a healthy diet and a regular exercise. One should also take time for self-wellbeing, for example, taking rest periods throughout the day, practice mindfulness activities, and fun activities daily. I hope this short paragraph was able to inspire you to take some time to battle stress and be proactive in fostering your resilience.
Best Wishes,
Ms. Frankie

Eric Sauvageau - VPHS Wrestling Coach & Campus Staff
Written by Marianna Mendoza
For the past three years, Mr. Sauvageau commonly referred to as “Mr. Eric” has been an integral part of Villa Park High School’s campus atmosphere. His work as a Boys Locker Room Attendant, Equipment Manager, and Wrestling Coach has provided Villa Park students and athletes the most proper environment. Graduating from Loara High School in 2007, Mr. Eric found his passion for athletics with his active involvement at his school’s wrestling team. He would go on to develop this passion whilst playing collegiate level wrestling at Cerritos College and Simpson University. Prior to working at Villa Park High School, Mr. Eric was a Security Guard at Beach Cities Learning Center. This avocation would later find him here at Villa Park High School, where Mr. Eric first started as a campus security guard. Mr. Eric’s favorite aspect of his job is seeing the athletic, academic, and personal growth of his students. This correlates with his 16 years of coaching experience at both Cerritos College and here at Villa Park High School. For the past three years, Mr. Sauvageau commonly referred to as “Mr. Eric” has been an integral part of Villa Park High School’s campus atmosphere. Tina Zlaket - AP Secretary
First starting in the 2021-2022 school year, Mrs. Zlaket currently works for the school as a secretary to Assistant Principal Mrs. Vandercook. For the past three years, Mrs. Zlaket has brought a sense of comfort and charisma to the colleagues in the counseling office. Graduating from Bolsa Grande High School in 1983, Mrs. Zlaket was involved in ASB, Girls’ League, and Tennis. Following graduation, Mrs. Zlaket attended Brigham Young University where she would go on to major in Family and Social Sciences. At BYU Mrs. Zlaket continued her passion in student leadership, and was a part of the university’s student council. Prior to working here at Villa Park High School, Mrs. Zlaket was a purchaser for Nordstrom. One of the many aspects that Mrs. Zlaket enjoys about Villa Park High School is the presence of the students and the youthfulness that they bring. One fun fact about Mrs. Zlaket is that her surname, “Zlaket” translates to beekeeper in Arabic.
