A Letter From Dr. Carey

Dear Enumclaw School District Community,
And the school year has begun!
It was exciting to see the smiling faces, great new school outfits, and feel the positivity radiating from students, parents, and school staff alike on Wednesday! This was by far the best start to a new school year in my past three years in the Enumclaw School District. Thank you to everyone who played a role (large or small) in getting this school year off to a great start!
As I made my way around to visit the schools and student work spaces these past few days, it was fun to see how quickly our students and instructional staff had moved from relaxed summer days to focused classroom teaching and learning. While we continue to create space and opportunities for students to feel they are connected to their friends and the staff, I think we all share a sense of urgency in getting to where we were before the pandemic. Learning what we want to know and need to know in order to be the very best citizen that we can be!
This year is filled with promise and possibility. More importantly, there seems to be a collective commitment to making this the best year that we have experienced in the recent past. Thank you for partnering with our staff to make this a “destination” school district and know that we appreciate your support!
