Dear Everitt Families:
Happy Thanksgiving, Everitt families!
There were so many wonderful things happening at Everitt this week. Several of our students were selected to participate in All County Choir which took place today. We're so proud of all six of our singers who are participating and know that the concert tonight will be beautiful. Our Sammy's Buddy Program students and Mr. Peter's class went on a field trip today. The friendships that have developed in the group are truly lovely.
Next week, there is no school from Monday through Friday. We will see you all back at Everitt on November 27th! This Thanksgiving, and always, we are grateful for each of you and what you bring to our community.
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

QPR Training for Parents & Caregivers
Attend a Life Saving Training. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to:
- recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis
- how to ask someone directly if they are feeling suicidal
- how to refer someone to help
This session will be delivered with parents and caregivers in mind. While the information taught in this training is applicable to all people of all ages, we will spend extra time focusing on how this applies to the youth in our lives.

CELEBRATIONS!
Nick H. - He found a driver's license and credit cards on the way to school and turned them into the office. The owner was so grateful!
Lily R. - Lily, it is such a blessing to have you in my class and engage with you everyday! You are always willing to try new things and are such a positive young lady to be around! Thank you for being a bright spot in my day!
Charlie M. - Charlie, thank you for your constant positivity and excellent behavior! You are a light on a dark day and it is so wonderful to be able to count on you to do the right thing, even when others are not! Thank you!
Lincoln T. - Lincoln, I want to give you this certificate for being phenomenal on a regular basis! You make me want to be a better teacher, and fight harder for change! Thank you for consistently doing the right thing, no matter what others are doing!
Brady F. - Brady, you have done an excellent job in STEM this project and I have seen a huge change in you! Your answers have been deeper level and high quality and your work ethic has been stellar! Thanks for working so hard, I can't wait to see the game you create! Keep it up!
Nasir L. - Nas showed bravery as the first student to present his project to the class. He was obviously well prepared and produced excellent work! Nas has also shown an incredible amount of growth since 6th grade, especially in terms of his work ethic, and it is showing in his high quality academic work.
Cha'le K. - Asked a new student sit with her and her friends during lunch. She waited for him to grab his lunch before showing him where they sit and introduced him to the other students at the table.
Coburn V. - Coburn consistently asks questions for clarification and is focused and stayed on task to complete work. His completed work is neat and is a great example for the class.
Jordan S. - Jordan was focused and stayed on task throughout the period without being distracted with other students.
Guadalupe R. - Rose followed directions and finished work responsibly throughout the entire period with minimal redirection.
Bricelyn B. - I have Bricelyn in co-taught math and reading. I have seen a shift in her and taking risks with her learning. She is willing to try the assignments and advocate for herself if she doesn't understand something. Also, she is one of Meadow's favorite people! :)
Daelyn P. - Daelyn followed directions and finished work responsibly throughout the entire period with minimal redirection.
Lawrence M. - Lawrence has been an EXCELLENT TA! He started when we had all the tech issues going on in the district, so basically he was asked to hold down the fort in the library while I was running all around the building. He answered the phones and answered questions as best he could. When there was time for proper training, he was positive, motivated and inquisitive and always wanted to learn and do more. I think he likes the authority but he shows he deserves it with the amount of work he puts in.
Simon A. - Simon's teacher had arranged for time for him to work on class work during the period in the library. Simon was finished early (and his work seemed up to par from what I knew) and he offered to help in the library. He organized books, organized and moved Chromebooks, checked in books, moved tables, pushed in chairs, wiped down tables. He then said he would like to be a library TA and showed he could do the work.
Lydia M. - Lydia is in my co-taught math and reading classes and is always willing to take a chance on her assignments. She is a hard worker who will ask questions if she doesn't understand something and will help others, if asked. Also, Meadow loves her, so you know she has to be awesome!
