Thank you PTC!
Great turn out for Family Movie Night. Thank you to the PTC and all our families for coming out and joining us for a fun night. It was the biggest crowd we have had for this event.

Salem Kids Relay Shirt Sponsors
Hello Panther Families
I know it may still seem far away but it's that time of year when Mr. Steenslid starts preparing for this year's Salem Kid Relays that will be happening in May. What we are looking for are any families that own a business or work for a business that would like to be a sponsor of the relay team to help pay for this year's relay shirts. PTC paid for the shirts last year and are happy to do it again but we thought that by finding sponsors would help with the cost since we are anticipating more runners and coaches this year and prices have gone up as well.
We are looking for 5-6 sponsors. We are asking for sponsors to donate $200. With your donation, you will have your company logo put on the back of the relay shirts and you will also receive a relay shirt for yourself.
If you are interested in being a sponsor, please feel free to email

The Oregon State Athletics Student-Athlete Development department is launching a new event in celebration of National Girls and Women in Sport Day.
The BEav Bold: Girls & Women in Sport event will be held on February 7th, 2024 from 6pm-7pm in the Reser Stadium Toyota Club. Event participants will join OSU female student-athletes and staff for a craft activity to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day. All participants will receive a craft bracelet, dessert, and goodies to take home. The event welcomes all girls ages 8-14 years old.
Would you be willing to promote this event to all girls ages 8-14 years old? If so, we have included a flier with a QR Code (or this RSVP link) and a social media post pdf below. Please let girls in your community know that the sign up closes on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024.
Volunteers
It truly takes an “all hands on deck” mentality to run a school effectively. If you are interested in volunteering in your student’s class, chaperoning a field trip, or helping out behind the scenes, please begin the background check process found here or on the Cascade School District website on the “parents and students” page.
The background check process takes two-four weeks, is completely free, and lasts for two years. We recommend completing this early in the school year so as to avoid delay.
You no longer need to provide proof of COVID vaccination in order to volunteer.
Parent Teacher Club (PTC)

Read Every Day January Challenge
In January, grade alike classes will be competing to see who can read the most. The rules will remain the same for Read Every Day. You must read at least 15 minutes on 5 different days to count towards the goal. The class from each grade level who has the most students turn in a Read Every Day Reading Log, with at least 15 minutes of reading, on 5 different days will be selected to have a pizza party. To increase the likelihood of winning, read every day, for 5 days in a row, for at least 15 minutes, and immediately turn in your reading log after finishing. Get a new log and new books and start the process again for the whole month.
Good Luck to everyone and may the most dedicated readers win!

Compliment Corner
Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn life around. If you would like to publically compliment someone at Aumsville Elementary or a community partner at an Aumsville Elementary event, you may do so here.
The compliment will show up in the next Panther Periodical!
Aumsville PTC - Thank you for bringing in Alex Zerbe last week! My daughter put on her own comedy routine in the living room this weekend, complete with autographs at the end.
She also made me practice juggling and told me it’s okay to make mistakes because that happens when you’re learning. She will definitely remember this experience!Quick Links
