Hadley Students Deliver Goods to Local VFW Post
Hadley students stepped up in a major way to help support local veterans. As part of the Veterans Supply Drive, students from all grade levels rose to the challenge of being engaged citizens and helped raise over 1,000 items which were donated to local VFW Post 2164. The goods collected are helping to support veterans at Hines Hospital who are currently in long-term care and in need of support. Seventh grade students Sofie E., Niko V., Samira P., Davis N., and Fred G. helped organize, load, and unload all of the materials. The students were able to meet Commander Leo Penkala (Army) and Quartermaster John Sillita (Air Force) and learn a bit about the goals of VFWs and the role they play in local communities. It was an enlightening experience for all involved. Way to go, Hadley students!

Children of U.S. Military Personnel
According to Illinois State School Code, school districts are required to report to the Illinois State Board of Education the number of enrolled students identified as children of U.S. military personnel. School districts serving any grades kindergarten through 12 shall provide families the opportunity to voluntarily state whether a student has a parent or guardian who is a member of a branch of the armed forces of the United States and who is either deployed to active duty or expects to be deployed to active duty during the school year. District 41 collects this voluntary information upon initial enrollment, however if you'd like to update your child's record, please complete this form and submit it to your child's school office.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact District 41 registrar, Sandi Hanson, shanson@d41.org.
