We have had a very interesting term and we want to share our sincerest thanks to you all for your ongoing support to our Kura. We can be very proud of our school and wider community and the support that is shared with all. Yesterday we held our Whānau Celebration Day and we were delighted with the number of whānau who were able to come in and share with the tamariki in the various learning opportunities which have gone on this half year.

The intergenerational conversations which took place, made our hearts smile.

IPS played at the New Plymouth rippa rugby tournament on Monday 26th June 2023 at Yarrow Stadium. IPS had lots of fun playing some tough games, coming fourth overall. Well done to all that played and made this a fantastic day Ka rawe team

In weeks 8 and 9 the year 5 & 6 students had interschool sports. We had two netball teams, chess, rugby, and soccer. Mangorei welcomed us into their school grounds and hosted us for week 8. The students played hard and we had a mixed bag of results. Some scores came nail-bitingly close!

In week 9 we had our final exchange at St John Boscos. We played games one after another so the students got to cheer each other on. It was tough, but the students played fairly and showed their REACH manners.

Thank you to all the staff and parents who helped out and coached this term. These exchanges wouldn't be possible without you and this has given the students a memorable experience.

Our Kaiako have been working hard on various assessment and discussion in readiness to report to you as parents. The reports were sent home yesterday. Our Student Led conferences will take place in Term 3 Wednesday 26 July 3:15 - 4:45 and then again Thursday 27 July from 1200 - 8pm.

Please note when booking, there is a different code for Wednesday and Thursday.

Each booking is 15 minutes long. Please ensure you arrive on time to each booking.

Booking your interviews

The booking website will open Monday, 19 June at 12:30 PM, and will close Wednesday, 26 July at 12:30 PM.

1. Go to https://parentinterviews.co.nz/book/go/XFPV6YPX

1. Enter your name, contact information, and the names of the students you wish to make bookings for.
2. Select the teachers you'd like to book by ticking the checkbox beside their name, and then click the Book Interviews button at the bottom of the page.
3. Using the timetable, click the Book button beside the time slot you'd like to book for the teacher. You'll be asked to confirm your booking.
4. Continue until you've made bookings for every teacher you'd like to see.

Once you're finished, you can view your timetable by clicking My Interviews at the top of the page. You can also print a copy of your timetable to take to the event.

Before your bookings you'll receive an email reminder containing your timetable. If you need to cancel any bookings, you can do so by following the link in the email you received when you first signed up.

Pyjama Day Fundraiser - Wow, how awesome was it to see all the kids in their pajamas last Friday! Our fundraiser was a success and we raised $316.90. Thank you for all those that made a donation towards the sealing of the pump track.

Yarrows Cookie Fundraiser - ParentLink are doing a Cookies & Mini Bites fundraising with Yarrows The Bakers. An order form has gone home to all families yesterday. Please check your students bags. Cookies have 20 in a bag and are $10 each and yummy bites have 6 in a bag and are $3 each. All order forms are due back to the school office by Thursday 3 August. Thank you for your support.

This is for both IN ZONE and OUT of Zone Enrolments

We are delighted to share that Inglewood Primary School are participating in the Ikura | Manaakitia te whare tangata - period products in schools initiative.

Ikura (periods) are a fact of life for half the population. Through this initiative, the Ministry of Education is providing period products (pads and tampons) to support students in managing their ikura. We will have products available for students to use at school and to take home.

We hope that providing access to period products will help to reduce barriers to accessing education.

The Taranaki Toy Library is holding this year’s Children’s MONSTER Book Sale on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th September. On their behalf, we will be collecting any good quality second hand children’s books (suitable for ages 0-13) starting after the school holidays. The holidays are the perfect time to have the children go through their bookshelves, sorting out books that they have outgrown. If you have any unwanted books that you wish to donate, please drop these off to the school office from week 1 of Term 3. Please do not include colouring-in or activity books unless they are in new condition.
