Last week, St. Mary Catholic Schools hosted the Diocese of Green Bay All-Diocesan School Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, celebrated by Bishop David Ricken. Students from all five SMCS campuses served in the Mass.

11.08.22 Coffee with Our Principals: Join us on the Middle School campus for this new monthly opportunity to connect with the SMCS leadership team. Bring your questions, comments, and ideas. Coffee and pastries will be provided.

11.11-13.22 Clue: SMCHS opens their 2022-23 season with Clue! You're sure to laugh your way through this comedic whodunit. Tickets are available online by clicking here, or at the door.

11.14.22 SMCHS Fall Preview Night: Know a family exploring high school options for next year? Invite them to Fall Preview Night! Teachers, administrators, and current students will present and answer questions about academic offerings, courses, college preparation, faith formation, athletics, fine arts, STEM programs, and much more. No RSVP required. Parents and students are encouraged to attend.

Winter Sports Schedule: SMCS gyms are busy these days as our basketball teams of all ages are beginning practice for the upcoming season. Be sure to bookmark the Big East Calendar to keep track of all of the upcoming games. Go Zephyrs!

Calling All Dads! Zephyr Dads is a place for all dads connected to the SMCS system to connect to each other. We have Dads with alumni all the way down to Dads with preschoolers! Learn more about Zephyr Dads here, and make plans to join them at an upcoming event.

Have you ever made a promise to yourself to change your ways – diet, temper, language – and then failed to follow through? Does it matter if you make that pledge in front of others?

Zacchaeus may be one of the fastest, most dramatic conversion stories in the entire Bible. Think of the politician you despise the most, or an abusive boss or co-worker. Then imagine that person making a complete about-face when Jesus comes along, not only acknowledging the error of his ways, but making a public commitment to set things right. That’s how the crowds must have perceived the tree-climbing tax collector.

Thankfully for us and for Zacchaeus, Jesus specializes in conversion, whether instantaneous or more of the “continuous improvement” variety. The beautiful poetry of the book of Wisdom and Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians both describe how God’s life and grace and plans are constantly, gradually unfolding in each of us, if we open the door to the Holy Spirit.

This week, Jesus invites Himself once again into our homes and hearts. Will we welcome Him and allow His life to change us?
