It is with great pleasure that we welcome the fall! This is my favorite time of year. The weather is changing, the pumpkin-spice everything, and all of the holiday celebrations that take place. I hope everyone has an extraordinary Fall Break!

Students will return to campus on Tuesday, Oct. 17th. Our Gator Showing Greatness tenant for October is "Be Accountable." What makes a person accountable? A person who consistently honors their commitments and responsibilities.

Congratulations to our Gators Showing Greatness! They were caught showing kindness to classmates, helping pick up trash in the cafeteria and being respectful to others.

Today we celebrated our custodians, Ms. Teresa, Miss Lisa and Mr. Paul. October 2nd is National Custodian Appreciation Day. Classes celebrated them by making cards and signs, and letting them know how much we appreciate them.

Students practiced math facts by playing fun games. Even Ms. Elliott joined in the fun!

To celebrate meeting their AR Goals, Ms. Flowers' class got to build forts in class and have some independent learning. Students had the option to read, compete in Word Maker, or quiet free time. Way to Gators!

It's football with a twist. Invent a way to launch a ping pong ball the farthest distance using 3-5 paint stirrers, a wooden block, a paper cup, duct tape and a ping pong ball. Student's first created their own design and then met up with their group to brainstorm.

Our 6th graders closed out the quarter with a celebration. Mrs. Graham and Ms. Elliott handed out donuts and students earned extra activity time.

Ms. Smith's Kindergarten class celebrated filling their Compliment Critter Jar this quarter with a pizza party. Each time the class receives a compliment, they get to add a critter to the jar. They worked hard all quarter to earn compliments.

Mrs. Smith's 4th Grade class learned more about idioms by creating rhythm patterns and performing them in groups!

Mrs. Taylor's 1st grad class enjoyed an Arizona snowball fight. Ms. Elliott joined in the fun too, but they were too much for her.

This week students watched a video teaching them how to safely board and leave a bus, bus safety and how to evacuate the bus in an emergency. Students practiced all these skills on Wednesday. They did a great job listening to the bus drivers and helping other students exit the bus.

Thank you to this quarter's Safety Patrol for helping our Kindergarten and 1st grade students arrive and leave school safely.

Resilient Health is partnering with CTA Goodman to offer a class for parents to learn ways to manage youth anxiety. Parents will learn how to set up healthy routines, eating habits and coping skills. This is a parents only event. The class will be Wednesday, October 18th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., in the CTA Goodman MPR.

If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities include Running Club, Art Club, Choir, Theater Club, STUCO, Science Camp and may other activites.

A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
