If you have a sibling or an incoming kindergartener that doesn’t currently attend our school and you would like them to, please enroll them in the lottery. Contact Mrs. Reisen at breisen@ogdenprep.org if you have questions about the lottery. Our first lottery drawing for kindergarten will be March 1st.

It is Science Fair time at Ogden Preparatory Academy Junior High and we (desperately) need your help judging our science fair exhibits. If you are interested in (or not vehemently opposed to) being a science fair judge, please let me know.

The fair is March 1 (Wednesday) from 8 a.m. to about noon in the junior high gym, located at 1435 Lincoln Ave in Ogden. Please come help us. We promise a great experience interacting with sincere young scientists (7-9 graders) who are much more frightened of you than you are of them! We will also feed you a delicious breakfast. P.S. We are also looking for prizes for our young participants. If you have "stuff" (pens, hats, gift cards, shirts, bling, etc....) that you can contribute for prizes, please let me know. We sincerely need and appreciate prizes as well.

Productive relationships between parents and teachers are essential to learning. You can facilitate development of a respectful relationship with your child's teacher(s) by:

• Introducing yourself
• Sharing anything that would be important to consider when planning for your child's learning experiences (for example: strengths, areas for growth, goals, etc.)
• Attending Family Conferences and identifying ways you can support your child's learning
• Asking your child about what they a re learning and reinforcing their learning at home by maintaining focus on the learning process rather than on outcomes and celebrating both successes and failures
• Acknowledging the positive contributions of educators on your child's development, growth, and learning
