Week 8 @ Puketapu with pare & Marlia
The mornings have been crisp but the sun has been shining this week at Puketapu.
In class we have been working on our visual pepeha this week. We have Taranaki te maunga and our awa along with iconic things from NZ.
On Wednesday we gathered as a school at assembly and Mr Walker got us to go into our whānau groups to play a game. Kākāpō won! The Te Mako Matawhero awards were given out too.
Today Kauri & Kōwhai have swimming sports at Bell Block Pools, it was cool to see everyone arrive at school dressed up in their whānau colours.
Our year 6's have camp next week and all of our school winter sports are starting soon.
Enjoy the next two weeks of school everyone before the school holidays start.

this week at school
Tōtara tamariki were lucky this week when Mrs P brought in a Pilot's Jacket from WWII.
Below is What Mrs P had to say:
The Tōtara 4 & 5 students who came were right into drawing the jacket and talking about a label for it. They talked about what it was made from, how old it is and how precious it is - It was a lovely discussion.
Some of the Tōtara 3 tamariki were able to engage in this discussion and so many were keen to try it on and take a photo.
Big smiles from Tōtara with their WWII Pilot's Jacket.
Creative thinkers in Whaea Lauries class have worked together to design and build an impressive home complete with swimming pool.
Happy learners in Whaea Kennedys class!
