Important Dates
October 10th- No School
State of the District Invitation- Please join the IUSD Board of Education and Superintendent Terry Walker for the 2022 State of the District on Tuesday, October 18 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Woodbridge High School (2 Meadowbrook, Irvine) in the new Performing Arts Center. The presentation will provide an overview of how IUSD’s 50-year commitment to continuous improvement is at the heart of our promise to provide the highest quality educational experience we can envision. Topics will include teaching and learning, mental health and wellness, staffing, investments in technology and facilities to create equitable learning environments for all students, and how the District is maximizing our limited resources as one of the lowest funded school districts in the nation. Irvine Parent Education Programs (IPEP)- FREE seminars and educational workshops offered to Irvine parents throughout the school year. The goal is to empower parents with the skills and strategies necessary to become active participants in their child’s education. IPEP offers a variety of workshops focused on topics important to parents of IUSD students. See Parent Workshops for October for more information.
School Site Council- Join us on Wednesday October, 12th at 3:30pm via zoom to participate in our School SIte Council meeting. Click HERE for the zoom link. All families are welcome.

IUSD College and Career Fair- Join us at Woodbridge High School on November 7, 2022 from 5pm-8pm. All students, families, and staff are invited to attend this in-person event where you can interact with college representatives, learn about IUSD’s Career Technical Education programs, attend informational panel sessions, learn about community partners and more! OCTA Youth Ride Free Bus Pass has been Extended. New Passes Required: The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) has extended the program that allows youth aged 6 to 18 to ride OC buses for free to school, after-school activities, jobs and more.The Youth Ride Free Pass program started in September 2021 and was extended by the OCTA Board of Directors. The current “blue” pass will expire on September 30, 2022. The new “orange” pass will be effective now through September 30, 2023. To request a pass, please complete a Parental Request Form (available online here) and provide the completed form to Mr. Sam Lane or Ms. Lauren Yadon, IVA Counselors, who will provide your child with the free pass. High School Updates
Service Academy Information Night- The Office of Congresswoman Katie Porter is hosting two service academy informational nights regarding the service academy nomination process.
The first will be a general informational night, which takes place on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 5:00 PM PT click HERE to register. The second is the Women’s Academy Night, which is geared towards young women interested in attending an academy. That will take place on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 5:00 PM PT click HERE to register.

October 12th Testing Day Activities
9th Grade - PSAT 8/9 Testing Day
Students need to arrive at the Creekside Education Center, 3387 Barranca Parkway Irvine, CA 92606 at 8:00am to take the EOS Survey before testing begins. Please bring with you a school ID or California ID card and approved calculator, although all questions can be answered without one. 10th Grade - Pre-ACT Testing Day
Students need to arrive at the Creekside Education Center, 3387 Barranca Parkway Irvine, CA 92606 at 8:00am to take the EOS Survey before testing begins. Real Talk HBCU Edition- Real Talk events were created to provide Black students and their families with the tools they need to start planning for their future. This fall, we’ll connect attendees with Black college reps across the country, financial aid experts with insider tips on finding scholarships, college students who’ll give your students a realistic view of campus life, and Black professionals in tech, sports, and entertainment.
