Happy Week 6

It has been a fabulous week of learning opportunities this week, despite colds, flu and COVID. Many thanks to all kaimahi who have continued provide and engage the tamariki in the opportunities on offer here at IPS.

Also a huge thank you to our Guest Teachers who have been in this week, we value your availability and enthusiasm.

New Gate Procedures for IPS

We have our controlled access gate working now.

There is now limited access to vehicles to our school grounds.

This is essential to keep our ever growing population of tamariki safe here at IPS.

Please do not be offended if you are refused entry with your car.

If you have a sick child and are required to come and collect them, you will be granted access.

The gate will be closed for general use between the hours of 0815 and 1515.

The Blue gates on the boundary of the kura will be shut and locked at the end of the day and weekend as usual.

REACH Goal Week 6 & 7

Keeping hands and feet to yourself and communicating with kind words.

PCT Challenge

On Friday 26th May, 4 teams of Year 7&8 students spent the day at the TSB Stadium to compete in the annual PCT event. The excitement & anticipation was huge knowing that IPS had won the event last year. During the practice lap the teams worked well to identify strategies to reduce the time taken for their following timed lap. One of our speedy teams managed to get a time of 2:06 which kept them at the top of the leaderboard for quite some time before some other speedy teams snuck in and took out the top 3 placings. Unfortunately due to time constraints this year they were only able to do one timed lap for each team before they announced the top 3 teams. It was awesome to see the fantastic IPS teams conquer different challenges throughout the day. All of the participants should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Tino pai.

Merrilands Year 5 & 6 Interschool Sports Exchange

On Tuesday 30th May, the year 5 & 6 Interschool team travelled to Merrilands School, where we played Rugby, Football, Netball and Chess. It started off as a wet day, however when we hopped off the bus the weather played in our favour. The children were outstanding and displayed their REACH values throughout the day. We successfully won the Rugby, Netball and Soccer and we drew in the Chess.
