Message from Mr. Kingery
Dear Art Rutkin Families,
We all wish you a great start to 2024! We are nearing the end of the 2nd quarter of the school year which means there is even more happening at school. Our first after-school program, Chess Wizards, should be able to start next week as long as we get one more student signed up to make a minimum of 10. We will be looking for lower cost after-school programs to add as we start the new year. Do you have an idea or interest in leading an after-school program in STEM, art, performance arts, academics, or most any area of student interest? If so, please contact me to share ideas you may have to see if it can work. After-school programs generally run for 6-10 weeks, but this can be flexible depending on the program idea. Free and low cost ideas will be our goal.
Do you have an interest in supporting our school garden? Spring is coming up and we want to get our school garden ready for planting season. Each class will have at least two raised planting beds to plan for. There are also in-ground planting beds to plan for. Please contact our office so we can add you to a family email list for more details by the end of January.
We have been revisiting Safe, Considerate and Responsible school-wide expectations with students all week. We encourage conversations at home about how your child contributes to a positive school day by demonstrating leadership in these areas. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about how we support students having a positive experience here at school every day.
Happy New Year,
Mr. Kingery
Principal
