Slaybaugh School Complex
Week of October 11th 2020
Principal's Message
I am happy to let you know that the Slaybaugh scheduling is completed and an informational letter along with the bus passes were mailed out on Thursday, October 15th. You should be receiving the information in the mail very soon. We worked very hard to balance each group with an equal number of students. A special thank you to our secretaries in the Primary building: Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Smith and at the Elementary building: Ms. Balesteri and Ms. Loftus for their help and hard work with everything. We would like to also give a special thank you to our PSI and PSD teachers and their paraprofessionals, along with the related service providers and the Child Study Team for all of their hard work with in-person instruction during Phase 1.
As a reminder, if your child needs any social, emotional, mental health, or academic services please reach out to our School Counselor, Ms. Simone, to arrange an in-person or virtual meeting. We are excited and look forward to seeing the students back inside the building very soon.
Sincerely,
Joe Marinelli
Principal
Student Achievement
Math Meets Nature for Preschool Students
Mrs. Simon's AM class explored parts of a tree. Olivia went on a nature walk at home and brought in her findings to share. They made a graph of the color leaves to see which color had the most and which color had the least.
Kindergarten Students Get "Linked" to Learning
Mrs. Schwegman's class has been discussing the four seasons and learning about different things they may see during the fall. The students learned how to make paper chains and created their own Fall themed decorations. Happy Fall Y'all!
Mrs. Sansom and Her "Teacher's Pets"
There's Science in the Forecast for Ms. Sawyer's Class

Safe Schools Week
America’s Safe Schools week 2020 is October 18-24. The National School Safety Center, state governors and state school superintendents sponsor America’s Safe Schools Week. This is also actively supported by local, state, and national public officials.
Here at Slaybaugh we are humbled to raise awareness and do our part. Please see the attached letter for more information and poster contest instructions.
