Hello Bush Families!

It was a wonderful week at Bush! We loved seeing our Bobcats dressed in their Rodeo gear today for Go Texan Day. Thank you to all the parents who joined us for Kindergarten Rodeo! The kids had a wonderful time.

Next Wednesday and Thursday our 4th grade students will be taking their Interim Assessments. These are basically practice STAAR tests. They are going to do a great job! Please let us know if you have any questions.

Parent Access Center is a free program available to all CISD parent/guardians that allows viewing of helpful information regarding student attendance, report cards, progress reports, daily grades (second grade and up), state test results, Students Achieving Excellence (SAE), discipline and available lunch money. Parents/Guardians wishing to access this service must have a valid email address

If your child is sick or will not be present at school please inform us each day of the absence. To report an absence for your child, please do one of the following:

• Email the registrar – srandall@conroeisd.net with your student’s absence information.
• Call our attendance line at 936-709-1610 and leave a message stating your child’s name, reason for the absence, person reporting the absence, and a phone number.

When your child returns to school, a note explaining the absence should be brought to their teacher or the front office.

If your child is not in attendance at school for the entire day for any reason, the student is considered “absent”. There are basically two types of absences:

1. Excused Absence: an absence is considered "excused" when there is prior parental notification (phone call or email) explaining the absence, or a note from a parent or medical professional upon return to school. Absences can be excused if they are related to illness, medical appointment, a death in the family, or other health related reasons. An excused absence does not remove the absence from the student’s record, but it does document that a student is absent for an excusable reason.
2. Unexcused Absence: an absence is considered “unexcused” when there is no prior parental notification, no note or email sent upon return explaining the absence, for family travel/vacation, or other absences not recognized as "excused" by the district or state.

If you want to volunteer in any capacity on our campus, you must complete an application to "Volunteer in Conroe ISD." This includes any participation in classroom activities or aiding the teacher. This is a very easy application to complete. You can access the application at:

With the cooler weather the children are now wearing sweaters and jackets. Please remember to label these articles clearly with your child’s name. Also don’t forget to label water bottles, backpacks, and any other personal items. If your child misplaces an item, please remind them to check in the lost and found located in the gym.

As volunteers for the 15th Annual Paint the Path Pink planning committee, we would like to introduce you to a cause near to our hearts. Each year for the past 14 years, Mitchell Intermediate School has organized a charity event called PAINT THE PATH PINK to raise money for breast cancer awareness and prevention services. Paint the Path Pink 2024 is a 5K run or walk along the scenic Woodlands walking paths near Mitchell​ Intermediate School. This year, our event is on April 13, 2024. 15 years ago, this event was inspired in response to two Mitchell teachers having spouses battling breast cancer simultaneously. Currently, we have two teachers battling breast cancer, who are current Mitchell employees. This event is a much-loved tradition our students and their families look forward to each year and really brings out the best in our students and community.

This year, our event will benefit The Rose Foundation, a respected breast cancer charity right here in the Houston community which helps women access critical breast cancer preventive care including screening mammograms, diagnostic care, and navigation in treatment, regardless of their ability to pay. 100% of the proceeds goes directly to The Rose Foundation. Mitchell Intermediate does not retain a dime of the proceeds, we are simply the organizers of this cause.

We are seeking sponsors and donations in order to underwrite the fixed costs of the event and raise money for The Rose Foundation. We are hopeful you will consider sponsoring or registering for our event. There are several sponsorship levels available. Sponsorship levels and benefits are outlined in the attached documents, and if you are willing, I have also provided you with a link to the registration and sponsorship links through The Rose. Our event typically draws between 300-400 Woodlands participants, including students, their families, and other local athletes. The advertising for the event reaches all 1200 5th and 6th grade students and their families and is typically covered by local media. Our event has a captive audience for your products and services.

Current 4th Grade parents might be interested in the silent auction items which will begin on April 10, 2024. The most popular item is 1st or 2nd in the Mitchell Car Rider Line!
