Dear OMS Families,

What an amazing day! Thank you for your patience as we distributed over 600 student supply boxes and classroom materials bags in 90+ degree heat. Our goal was to complete each grade level within 1 hour and we did it! Even though we only had a few minutes to see you and your child in-person it meant the world to us.

We also enjoyed getting to see our students on Zoom for small group meet and greets. Seeing happy, smiling faces, and learning a bit about our students makes us even more excited for Tuesday!

Each year our teachers spend the first few weeks of school working with their class to develop new routines and to practice expectations. Even though we are remote, we will be taking time to build classroom communities, ensure our students understand remote learning expectations, Zoom behavior/etiquette, expectations during live and asynchronous instruction, and how to utilize their devices and apps. There will be a learning curve for everyone.

Please stay in close contact with your child's teacher if they are struggling. We will do our best to meet each child's needs. We anticipate that our teachers will begin with new instruction and more in-depth lessons during the 3rd week of school.

Curriculum Night will be Wednesday, September 16th. It was originally scheduled for September 2nd; however, with the change in the school calendar, we pushed it back a couple of weeks.

This night will be an opportunity for all families to Zoom with your child's teachers.
